ALL my cd's, Dvd's, mags etc from my private sales come back unsold. So depressing. I will take them to CEX and get an exchange price on them when I next shop in there.

I sent all my CDs to music magpie when I closed down my big amazon selling business. It seemed better that storing them for ever and at least I cleared some room.

magazines are poor sellers due to postage costs and apart from some surprisingly popular ones I really wouldn't bother listing them.

Magazines are ephemeral. They will not sell as collectables unless they have articles in them about significant events or major artists/works that keep their value.

I occasionally see gaming magazines selling (and even more occasionally buy them), but just any old pop music or film magazines from the past 20 years are trash.

CDs...well, most people know now how to get mp3s for the price of a single track and those don't need postage. I think it has been answered upthread but they are not selling even for the big companies and independent sites online are moving into downloadable content rather than physical discs. HMV are in trouble but just about keeping their head above water, and most of the big 'megastores' that used to be common in Reading packed up a long time ago.

And all the auctions with annoying watchers making you think you will get bids. Out of nearly 40 listings ALL came back bar one unsold. That's not shifting trends as earlier this year and every year before I was selling much more.

I don't know how many more times this has to be said, but just because something sold in the past does not mean it will sell forever!!

I am not the only one saying this.

Things go in and out of fashion and what people want changes.

If you are running a business you should know this instead of attempting to sell the same stock over and over when it's obviously not shifting.

There is also a recession (we all know the Gov saying we are out of it is rubbish).

    I give up!!

No,we're all wrong, it's a conspiracy against one person.

    One last time to hubb

    Either

    a) Your items may not be wanted any more.
    b) They may be wanted but other sellers are actually marketing them well/better and thus selling them.
    c) Something about you, as a seller is putting them off

    or

    d) You're making it up so you can wind people up on here by asking for advice and then ignoring them when you get it.

Now pick one, sort it out and stop moaning:beer:

So DVD's have gone out of fashion in a matter of months ? I am selling them at £1.99 and FREE postage (which costs me £1.10)

Tell us you're user name and let us have a look at your listings. We might be able to pinpoint the problem.

IMO DVDs have been out of fashion for the past year. Unless they are new releases or TV boxed sets, they really do not sell.

    Or get a bargain!

I think it's a bit cheeky asking the OP for their ebay details, they have a right to privacy. Why not just ask them to post an example of their listing?
