How can I fix my Karcher K2.94M Pressure washer - No Pressure?
Before it would only work for a few minutes then go off and I would have to wait at least 30 mins or more to get a few more minutes use out of it. But now I dont even get that much out of it.
I hear a buzzing from the motor but the pressure doesnt come on then after a little while the buzzing noise stops as well. The water come through the wand at the pressure from the tap.
So basically at the moment it's no use at all. I am happy to give a go to fix it but I dont know hardly anything about motor but I do have the star screw drivers and am a quick learner. So does anyone have any guidance on what to try and how to do it.
Also maybe I should mention that the motor seems to get very hot very quickly and seems to take ages to cool down
Cheers

If the motor is buzzing then the motor is knackered or a bearing has seized.0

Well it made this noise before and then the pressure part would kick in and it seemed ok. Of coure now I get the noise but the pressure bit doesnt kick in. Could this be to do with the Capacitor ?"The time is always right to do what is right"0 -
Have you been running the PW on extension leads as it kills capacitors if the leads are not of a high enough quality?
It could have a pressure switch that is sticking, have you not used it for a long time?0 -
Also on the extension lead front again if its not suiatble that overheats the motor as well.0

Yes I was using the Pw on and extention but I thought it to be of a reasonable quality - how can you tell if it high quality ?
Iss there an easy way to know if the capacitor burnt out...there doesnt seem to be any indication on the outside of the capacitor. Is there an easy way to tell ?
Also no I have not used the PW in prob a couple of years. How and where is the pressure switch and how can I free it up if it is sticking ?"The time is always right to do what is right"0 -
hi had this problem with my stihl pressure washer and also karcher one, both were repaired by myself by fitting new motor capacitor which i got from MAPLINS, both were under a tenner each, MAKE SURE YOU GET A MOTOR CAPACITOR THOUGH!!! had to redo wires on stihl one but works a treat now. HTH0

Most people use extension leads for these, and frankly, most extension leads if modern and bought from a reputable outlet will be okay. I think it might be a problem if the lead was very old, or a cheapo bought from an unregulated source.
Sounds like the capacitor, worth replacing as the cost is peanuts...

Thanks guys I will try replacing the capacitor but it seems Maplins doesnt have the size for my pressure washer which is a 12uf 400vb 450vc 50+60hz. I found one on espares so I will have to wait for it to be delivered now."The time is always right to do what is right"0 -

Would this one do?

£5.75 on espares , supposed to be an easy fit by the feedback. I've a similar problem with my K2.35 so going to have a look at that. If it is like mine you need a long thin T15 screwdriver to open the case up .
edit: much smaller on mine 220nF and not a can type.0
