g24 ltd

Hi all,

last friday i parked in a car park run/managed/whatever by g24 ltd, went into the store, came out the store, DD then suffered an epileptic seizure so we went up to A&E in an ambulance, spent 5 hours up there, got back to the car park, came home and got on with our week

Post has just been and we have been given a parking charge notice for staying there for longer than the 120 minutes they allow!!!! sorry but i was a bit too busy to collect the car after 120 minutes!!!

i want to appeal it but there is no phone number for me to contact them to appeal, only a number for an automated service to pay the charge!!!!!!!!!!

does anyone have a number for them so i can sort this out? or any advice on how i can prove that i was at the hospital for this 5 hours??

thanks

  • Simple answer is that you ignore these clowns. You don't owe them a penny. If you "appeal" to them it will be turned down ( private parking companies always do that). Instead disregard all the silly letters they will send to you and do not contact them at all.

Please read the "stikies" at the top of this forum which will tell you all you need to know about these scam companies.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
  • Just to add a small bit, you don't have to prove anything, just ignore as advised above.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

I know you 'want to appeal' and 'sort this out' but it's a scam and you cannot treat it like a normal PCN! There is NO appeal to a fake parking ticket scam.

Don't contact the parking company AT ALL, you must learn about this scam so you are ready for their scare tactics, so please read some threads on this sub-forum:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...play.php?f=163

Read the top sticky thread 'PPC letters, what to expect' to see what threatograms you will have to ignore. Stop thinking of this as a real PCN and a fine (it's NOT). You are taking this fake ticket scam FAR too seriously!

And read 'welcome, please read before posting' (near the top) and watch the Watchdog clip linked on there. Show your family what you find so they are ready for the debt collector scary letter-chain, but take our advice and IGNORE THE WHOLE MAIL EXTORTION ATTEMPT. It's like a phishing email series and will have no effect on your credit rating as you owe nothing at all, there is no fine, no debt. You will know this once you have read some threads and seen the Watchdog clip, as you are an MSE regular I am sure the penny will soon drop as to what this bogus PCN really is.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Complain to the store manager, saying that thanks to actions from their contractor, you shall be shopping at *name local rival* and telling your friends & family to do the same.

Ignore G24 and the pretty pieces of paper they send

Yes go for the store. The PPC are their agents and they are responsible for their reprehensible actions. A copy to the local paper would not go amiss as this sounds like something they would go for.

Ignore, ignore and ignore again. Note my username ;)

I've successfully ignored two "invoices" from them. They don't even adhere to their own contractual commitments with people like Nominet ( the internet domain name people ) because they have been known to provide false addresses.

So lets see, they want YOU to stick to THEIR contract ( despite the fact it is questionable that it is even legal ) but they won't stick to the contracts they themselves have entered into ? Tells you everything you need to know about these scammers.

I'm sure they're also having a nice time with HMRC at the moment having been reported by me for VAT avoidance :rotfl:

By the way - you should be naming and shaming the store that uses them !

They have changed letters, just recieved letter 3 & it is so different to the norm.
I will scan it in tomorrow.
States final notice, you WERE the driver etc.
They must be sick of sticking a new FINE on my car week in week out. :)

All the demands I've had from them have assumed I was the driver as I am the RK - not once have they made a statement like "Please confirm who was the driver". While not leagally obliged to provide the information, it would at least show they were attempting to identify who was driving rather than bullying the RK into paying.

G24 hasn't had the guts to take me to court because they know their letters have so many holes in them they would be laughed out of court. Combined with tax evasion and breaking their own contractual commitments why would any judge take them seriously ?

    I'm most disappointed there isn't a G24 troll on here :A
