Breaking Orange contract

I recently switched from O2 broadband to Orange, purely because it was so much cheaper. I am now massively regretting this! My download speeds during the day are ridiculously slow! I could download a film within half hour with O2 now i have to let it run over night with orange and trying to play games on my Xbox is nearly impossible as it either doesnt connect or when it does its ridiculously jumpy. I am only 2 months into a 2 year contract is it possible to end the contract early as my service is not fit for purpose?

Almost certainly not. You are presumably on an 'up to' 8Mbps service and that is what you are getting. What speed are you getting and what tests have you caried out to see if your own equipment or set up is at fault?
Orange is cheap for a reason, whereas 02 run a decent LLU service at a very reasonable rate.No free lunch, and no free laptop

What estimated speed did Orange give you when you signed up?
And how does that compare with what you get?
See: http://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/telecoms/codes-of-practice/broadband-speeds-cop/voluntary-codes-of-practice/ and check if Orange subscribes to that code.0 -
What speeds are you getting? These are my thoughts and no one else's, so like any public forum advice - check it out before entering into contracts or spending your hard earned cash!
I don't know everything, however I do try to point people in the right direction but at the end of the day you can only ever help yourself!0 -
As nited earlier, there are NO servce guarantees - only if technical issues are identified that mean the service as advertised is not being provided. As it is their decision whether there is a fault, not that you think it sgould be faster, means your minimum term remains, and you will have to buy out the remainder should you wish to break the contract.0
