Stella Cidre - no longer for sale in Sainsburys

Hi not sure if this is the right board to post this on, but as the beer/cider deals are always on this thread I thought it was best to post on here.

Visited Sainsburys tonight with a view to purchasing Stella Artois Cidre, but there was a notice stating that it had been withdrawn from sale due to health and safety issues, but the staff werent quite sure why it had been withdrawn. So when I return home I phoned Sainsburys and they informed me that due to a potential problem with the bottles exploding that they had withdrawn them from sale and they advise me that any I had purchased previously and still had left I was to return them to store due to these health and safety issues.

I was kind of hoping I had a dodgy batch. Hated the stuff, thought I was going to get a refund for my terrible purchase mistake :P Sadly not. Will just have to take them as my "alcohol contribution" at the next party I attend.

Fully agreed. I tried a bottle when it first came out. Reminded me of flat Lucozade with a hint of apple.

Morrisons easily have the best supermarket selection on the go!

Also, Stella Artois have not been able to keep up with demand & are running out of the specific apples that they are using to make the cider. So, supplies will be less & there will be fewer offers around. If you want a proper cider, go for Westons!
