i have a samsung D900 and have had problems recharging the phone i took it in to a vodafone shop for repair on 28th december and was returned on 4th january on receipt i took the phone away went to make a call a found the phone had developed a new fault, i duly went back to the shop and the staff checked the phone and confirmed the new fault, they booked it back in for repair, on the job sheet i received it said the phone should be ready on the 11th january. I have not received any text from vodafone to say the phone is ready for pickup so I did a fault check through vodafones website and it said it will not be ready till the 19th January. Is this acceptable or should i complain?

  • I would just note this for now and wait the extra time for the phone, when you get it back see if there are any further faults, if there are then I would push Vodafone to give me a new phone and mention all the time you phone has been in for repair to make a case.

You didn't say if Vodafone has given you a phone for meantime or if you purchased the phone from them in the first place.

this phone was an upgrade for £10 and i have had a loan phone (a sharp gx17 which is cr*p)
  • They have loaned you a phone so I dont think you will have a very strong case with them, unless your phone comes back with faults. I'd try and get a new phone out of them anyway, no harm in trying!!!

how long ago did u buy /get phone?????

vodafone r aresholes so dont expect any pro consumer sentiments from them.
  • To be fair..
    1) I like vodafone due to their customer service - an example, they are ALWAYS around to speak to if you have a prob. I had a few billings probs.. and spoke to someone who could instantly help and offer things. In fact the service COULDNT be better.

    2) I had a fault with my Sharp 903 (amazing phone). Was within warranty and exchanged within 2 days. Had faults with other phones and they've been fine.

I really do like vodafone. They provide a good service for me and great customer support.

I think one thing thats big which you should remember is that if its a serious fault it may take longer than first estimated. I'd rather have it delayed a week, then a new fault generating. Its just unlucky your phone developed a new fault but I wouldn't blame vodafone, this type of thing could happen to anyone with any operator...

You could always just say you were unhappy and they may offer you free stuff :) But i wouldn't get too nasty!

  • Hi iashem,

I work for Vodafone so if you wanted us to get an update on your repair job for you then one alternative would be to make contact with us by email. We do have a customer services team who monitor feedback on internet forums, they may be able to help.

If you wanted to get in touch just go to https://www.vodafone.co.uk, select 'contact us' then 'email'. If you leave the short-code FIT135 in the body of your email (and a link to this thread) somebody will be able to get in touch with you. (the short-code simply routes you through to the team who would have noticed this thread).

As MercilessKiller says, it may be the nature of fault that's causing the delay, however having a point of contact can do no harm in checking up on the status of the repair for you and informing of why the delay may be happening.
