First Direct What To Do...

I joined First Direct for the £125 incentive but also planned on obtaining the £100 leaving gift bagging me £225.
I am now in a quandry because they are actually quite good. If not vey good.
I have been approved for their gold credit card which has a 20 month balance trnasfer offer. Shame it isn't purchases.
When I phoned them they were very helpful and attentive.
Blast what to do?

It's annoying because im trying not to like them so I leave and bag the leaving gift too.
Their gold credit card doesn't have a competitive purchase rate. But balance transfer 0% 20 months must be one of the best around.0 -
I thought that if you applied for the leaving £100 you had to refer to specific incident/s that had occurred to highlight why FD had failed you as a customer. I would have thought you probably have to have logged a complaint highlighting this issue too.0

If you are in a position to save, consider opening one of their Regular Savings accounts which pays an amazing 8% for a year.0 -
I did just the same thing...just stayed in the end...0

Good customer service is probably worth not getting the additional £100!0

I have just switched to the dreaded Santander for the £100.00 incentive but will probably switch to FD later, if the offer is still availble.:money:Return and Restart August 2016

FD are just great- I joined at the end of last month and I just got the 125 in my account- I'm a happy bunny- I also opened the regular saver at 8% and have no intentions of leaving, they are great in all fronts- but I am considering what to do with A&L /Santander... once you are a customer, there is no incentive at all to stay...I have a regular saver coming to the end of the term in October and there is no much I am keen on...0 -
Thanks for that! Looks like I will be counting down to another switch. What is the point of sticking to a bank who does not work for your money, hey. They sure as hell are all quick to charge for their services.Return and Restart August 2016

Yes, the accounts were surprisingly easy to set up and their customer service is second to none... the only reason I keep my Santander one is that I get free withdrawals in Spain, where I am from but other than that, not much. All the good offers are for first customers only...
