Ah, I think it's a scheme for dullards...

The more PC way we describe it is helping people remove multiple barriers to be able to return to work. But on the quiet, mainly!

You are a total disgrace if this is what you really think of the people you are trying to help. In fact its you thats a total dullard, because your posts lack any level of analysis, critical thought or rational argument.I bet you have no qualifications and feel that you are superior to the people you are trying to help. Your not and also if you display these attitudes in the centre you work you'll soon be out on your ear.

Oh grow up. In what capacity can you possbily come to those conclusions? I have qualifications. I am in no way superior. I have spent the last 3 years trying to help people both in and out of funded programmes. My attitude? I have no preconceptions nor any prejudice but have experience of the client group, have you? I make no apologies for it nor do I seek any kind of validation from you or anyone else. I stand by my record of helping people. And get a sense of humour for goodness sake.
  • my story of the work programme so far, working links (triage central)

has been a joke up until now, appoiintments over three hours, waiting to be seen, until last week when i was ment to have an appointment two weeks a go today, but the day before phone call to say we have to re schedule my appointment, so far i haven't had a phone call, or a letter telling me about my next appointment

Sorry to hear that, have you brought up these problems with JCP? In each area, there are 2 main contractor providers so it may be possible to get referred to the other one if its that bad with this one.

are you saying you are already on it? i guess jobcentres are being allowed to set their own criteria then. unemployment is so high here that they wouldnt have the capacity to take everyone early on.
yes.. have been shoved on this - see my experiences on MSE.. TBh they are really a waste of time

thats assuming that everyone who gets on it has multiple or even any barriers.. I have a few views of my own why I cant find work but its nothing I can do anything about nor is it anything that programmes will or even can address.

Oh no, by far, not everyone has particular barriers beyond there not being enough, or the right jobs. The work I do is related to the people who do have barriers though such as disengagement from the workplace, lack of skills, alcohol & drug dependencies, confidence & communication issues. JCP rate claimants Red, Amber & Green (RAG) whereby Green are ready for work and if the job was there, could walk into it tomorrow, Amber is maybe ready for work but might need a small amount of skills work/trainin e.g. wants to work in hospitality but Food Safety certificate has run out, then Red where people are simply not really ready to work for various reasons including those I mentioned above.
  • A very big barrier is the lack of jobs.
I know the solution ! let all the unemployed fight each other tooth and nail for each opportunity!
    End result- full employment.
    Easy!
  • Yet in the Solent LEP Region, there were over 8000 unfilled vacancies advertised through JCP, 3.1 per claimant!

Search NOMIS for more information & about your own region.
