    Next problems:o

In safe mode - as suggested by Russ, I've uninstalled AOL and AVG.

I haven't yet done Revo or AVG's own remover yet - how do I know if I need to?

Also, when I try to uninstall McAfee (in safe or normal mode) I get the message 'Could not open INSTALL log file'

Similarly when I tried to uninstall BT Voyager ADSL modem and Modem AOL Test (been using Linksys modem router for a couple of years) I get messages 'Error loading newdev.dll' and 'Administrator priviledges required to install, uninstall or configure the DSL software'

Apologies for so many questions :o

    Unfortunately yes!

I was trying to do it step by step - ie by uninstalling through control panel 1st, then using the McAfee removal tool. However, as the main reason for doing it that way is to retain the licence - I guess I don't need to!

Any advice on the modem messages gratefully received - otherwise I'll just live with them. I did try googling the 'Cannot open uninstall file log' messages but was completely bamboozled

Thanks again for the help so far.

Thanks but that seems like too much hassle just to get rid of 2 small unwanted/unused programmes so I think I'll forget about them :D.
