Do you have a network preference?Hi all,
I am looking to buy a mobile phone; budget is about £60 and PAYG please.
It's a phone for the wife, used for calls and texts and apart from that, anything goes!
Can you recommend anything?
Thanks all!
Take photos? Even if the odd low quality one.
Me, I'd just go through Quidco and pick up the cheapest you can find. £3 cash back after spending £2.90 on the Alcatel OT-209 @ E2save. You make 10p profit. If you don't like it then you haven't lost anything and can get another one. £60 will get you a large choice.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

vodafone preferably, probably take a few pics yes. But not after the cheapest, as semi-decent one for under £60.

The Nokia 2730 is a pretty solid cheap phone, easy to use, does all the basics, 2MP camera, and you can use the internet and email on it too. I think you could get an unlocked version (so can use it on any network you want to) for less than £60.
Hope this helps.0 -
any links to any online deals?0

last phone was a V3 Razr and Samsung D600. Quite like the look of Tocco's.
Nobody has a deal for me?!

Chose the phone first, then look for the deals.
Also: sim-free, PAYG or contract?0 -
PAYG and like i said, i'm not sure what phone - just looking for a decent handset at a good price.
Lat time i bought a new phone was about 3 years ago!0 -
It's too vague. There are dozens of decent handsets at good prices. You have to narrow this.
Use some filters at the sites like CPW/e2save/mobiles.co.uk, e.g.

One other thing to bear in mind. If you buy SIM free, you'll be able to use on whichever network you choose without needing to unlock the handset (this applies to most handsets these days as most are dual band at least). If you the PAYG variant, it will be locked to the network but the cost will probably be subsidised by the network so the handset will likely be cheaper.0
