I had a couple of warts when I was younger and my father told me that if I stopped biting my nails they would go.

I did and sure enough the warts disappeared (and all the time I thought it was a ploy by him to stop me biting my nails!!).

Someone in a previous thread ages ago said that if you put a bit of banana skin (inside against wart) and put a sticky plaster over it and then replace it every day that that works.

Re warts on your son's hands - there was an old wives tale that you washed your hands in the water that an egg had been boiled in!

You could try painting the hand warts in clear nail varnish - that might discourage them
