19 years old, finding it impossible to find car insurance

have you tried all the comparison sites?
whats your occupation?
are you looking for fully comp or TPF&T? (FC generally cheaper for young drivers)
what mileage are you basing quotes on?
how long since you passed your test?0 -
Give Quinn Direct a try. They do third party so good if the car is not too valuable. They are a a no frills company and dont offer things like courtesy car, towaways etc0

Why buy such an expensive car?
Get a junker with 3rd party cover and drive it to death.
As you get older the insurance will come down
Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!

Didnt Quinn Direct go into administration in 2010? I cant seem to find a website for them anymore either, maybe just my PC but I'm pretty sure they have ceased trading0 -

Hey,
I've recently passed my driving test and looking to buy myself a car to enable me to get to university and back. I'm looking for a vehicle worth around £3000, say a 1.2 Ford Fiesta.
The cheapest quote I have been able to find so far is £6,800 for 12 months cover, which is with LV. Many other quotes are in excess of £15,000.
There is no way I can afford to pay prices like this. I have friends paying between £1500 and £3000, but I'd be lucky to even find a quote as low as that. I've been constantly searching and can't anything reasonable. Can anyone help or give any advice? I'm slowly losing hope.
Thanks
Jamie
I am so sorry for your plight. It is awful for you. Some quotes I had might help. I got insurance through Tesco for 1 DD age 19 with a fiesta 1.3 worth £1000, 51 plate, for £1800, fully comp. 2nd DD has a Suzuki alto 1l car worth £1500. She is 17 and the insurance 3rd party FT is £2900!!! I also tried the coop young persons insurance with a smart box and that came out at £4150.
I am still looking. It is dreadful that you are being asked for so much money to do the right thing.0
