Now see this is where a lot of people get confused. Easyjet did not break your camera, the airport handling agents did. The airports supply the luggage wreckers. I know this is being pedantic, and I don't mean to be flippant, but I always here "the airline lost my luggage, the airline wrecked my bag, etc".As others have said. Go through your home contents insurance.
I agree in this case that the OP needs to claim on his travel or home insurance but isn't the fact that agents are used something of a red herring? The OP's contract for this journey is with the airline. If they choose to contract out some of their service that is their business but the OP would still chase Easyjet for recompense in case of a problem, not their subcontractors.

Yes you are correct. I was just making the point that most people have a fit at the airline, when it is the airport workers that make the mistake or wreck the luggage. The airlines have no choice, they can not supply their own people to handle bags.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
  • Luggage is usually stacked 4-5 high, so if your case is on the bottom then its just tough luck. I have seen bags, suitcase fall off the stack when being towed.

I guess it depends on the people loading the bags, as usually they are in a rush and corners are missed like securing the baggage etc.
