3G Data SIM suggestions?

I'm looking into getting a tablet with 3G next month, so I'm considering my options with the mobile networks. I've looked at the likes of giffgaff (giffgaff.com) who offer a 1 month rolling contract for £10 a month with unlimited data, piggy-backing off the O2 network, but I was wondering if anybody was aware of any good PAYG deals out there?

3 offers a SIM with 1GB of usage for a £10 top up, but that usage only lasts for 30 days before you have to top up again - on the plus side, if I'm not using my data for a few days, I can defer paying £10 until I need it again, however it means that I have to go through the pain of topping up every time I run out.

Does anybody know of any PAYG SIM deals that don't have the 30 day limit on data usage? I could put up with topping up my SIM if I didn't have the 30 day restriction on usage, otherwise I may as well go with giffgaff, pay £10 a month, and not have to worry about it.

I don't think that that there are any good real PAYG deals.
However you can consider £6 rolling at chitter-chatter (add a free internet booster) or
12 Months of Mobile Internet on T-Mobile... ...for £10-£15 in total.

    Also: Three 3gb data sim - preloaded - £10.80 ... @ amazon marketplace

Glad I signed up for a 3 sim zero, £5 per month for 1gb, rarely use it but it's there and I don't miss the fiver.

GiffGaff is proberly the best use one of the referals on money saving to get extra fiver

Only problem with GiffGaff and all others including three they dont like there sims in a non phone although it is possible with GiffGaff you may get banned also tethering is forbiden with Giffgaff but again still possible.

Three do an unlimted for 25 per month broadband

I'm seeing conflicting reparts regarding giffgaff, and the possibility of a data-only goodbag on their site/forums. I'll drop a question in there.

Otherwise, I'll likely hunt down one of those preloaded three 3G SIMs, thanks!

My 3 sim zero is in a mi fi dongle and that is the only place it is used, O2 don't seem to have any issue with me tethering, in fact all my sim cards i have used in dongles.

Three are ok with preloaded sims in the miffi dongles but not with sims intended for phones e.g the unlimted ones which a lot of people have come on here saying three have switched sim off saying it should be used in a phone.
  • I've just bought a Three sim from Amazon. £10.88 for 3gb that lasts for 3 months or until you use it up. For a low user that's pretty cheap. I've a non-expiring credit Vodafone sim but that charges 1p every time the push/notifications system accesses the Internet,so it uses up credit quickly (even with low use).

Giffgaff are also due to launch a data sim too, but I'll be porting my number out from them once I get my next payback since O2's 3G network has poor coverage.
