All prices are published on the website including VAT and fitting, I had other companies round for 3 hrs at a time and then a week later quoted me an outlandish price. Time for them fitting my front door was 2 hours0 -
This is probably a silly question but here goes anyway. Do the prices quoted for a new door include the removal and disposal of the old door?0

Yes, usually but always good to ask just incase some cowboy tries to charge you extra for disposal when it comes to settling the bill0 -

A decent price and job is not always the cheapest, but then the best job is not always the highest either. These days its so easy to check someone out on a search of a company name, or the real name of the trader.
Still check them out separately even if with any organisation as the small print always states they do not guarantee the trader! Its only like paid advertising, been in four of these associations before and all they ever wanted was the annual fee.
An all in price to supply and fit a new door, with all locks and furniture ought to include an element for disposal. That bit is not going to be free, it will cost something but included, however if you buy your own door and fittings, dont then expect the fitter to take away all your old stuff for nothing. That saying you get what you pay for is so often true.
When looking, if using a company, think of the guy who does the work could be a sub-contractor who will be paid by the main man, likely the one who came and gave you the price, so be sure you are happy with both the 'salesman' and the fitter before the final paying up.
If a non-standard door then dont expect that at the same price as one off the shelf from your local timber shop or DIY shed, and this will always be an upfront cost, as it will not be any good for another customer.
Not talking about UPVC doors here, thats a totally different ballgame, most often these are made to measure and could need planning or may have conservation issues.
For my last thought, I offer supply and fit only, never fit what someone else has already bought, (prone to problems with storage or wrong sizes), and always include at least a primer base or two coats of a wood stain all round, otherwise you get clients not fully paint/staining a door for weeks afterwards then come back and moan the doors are sticking!0 -

I've had a quite to supply and fit a new front door - GPR (Composite) - with a small amount of glass - £1200 inc VAT. I think this is quite expensive myself but we are in SE. Does anyone have recommendations on suppliers they've used?0
