  • the best way to do an alevel is with the national extension college http://www.nec.ac.uk

this is a charity and is not like many of these companies that run courses for profit.

I did an A level with them and they are excellent

    good luck

NEC also participate in Tesco Clubcard deals now so if you've any vouchers you could use them to pay or part pay towards a course.

Hi my son is doing maths and physics with OOL.
Could you post info about OOL please?

Try doing a search for sheffield college. They do an online English AS & A level (free). I know this as i was interested in doing this an applied for further info last august but eventually chose a different course.

  • like CIS said, the open university is very good.

highly respected by employers and other universities
    can help with fees
    really good support for students

i'm an open uni graduate and it changed my life
Boyfriend & I have saved £12K in two years, thanks to careful budgeting and keeping a record of what we spend. I've never paid myself this amount of money before - it feels great!

ditto. I love the OU and have been studying with them for the last 8 years (no life changes yet tho').

I know the OP wants A-level English but as a mature student, you really should consider the OU if you were considering carrying on with studies after an A-level. You can get on OU courses without A-level and to be perfectly honest, i found A-levels harder than a degree!!
