It would be very easy and cheap to target an individual ebayer or individual auction. All you would need is two computers and two ebay accounts. Most people have access to a PC anyway so all you need is a willing accomplice and you could do it for virtually nothing. Just look at the havoc that virus writers can cause. Many of them are just spotty youths with a PC in their foetid bedrooms.

Anyone who ever hacked off another ebayer would be at risk of sabotage.

It would be relatively easy to sabotage so many that ebay could lose credibility and market share. Industrial sabotage exists and there are fortunes to be made in on line auctions.

But it would be pointless and eBay would cancel the accounts and baan the IP addresses.

One computer would be enough.

If they want to sabotage auctions, they just bid £1million.

When that happens the auction still ends at the planned time and the seller may have a second chance offer so the auction is not necessarily sabotaged.
