how do i put in a last minute bid on e-bay?

Options
i know this will have been posted before it's so obvious, but i can't find it in a search so please point me in the right direction.

i'm looking for a package to place my e-bay bid at the last possible second.
i've seen a few that do this but as they want my e-bay user name and other personal details i want to be extra sure i don't use/give my details to, a dodgy site.

can anyone recommned a package that does it at the last possible second in the most secure way possible

thanks
Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

    Try this one http://auctioninsights.auctionstealer.com/home.cfm

I have had no problems using it and you get 3 free snipes a week per ebay account (you have to register separately for each ebay account). Their week runs from Monday to Sunday.

It is free (despite them trying to get you to pay for extras) as there is always a link at the bottom of their page to continue for free each time you set up a bid etc.

I use esnipe.com - they do charge, but I think you get 2 weeks free when you sign up. The charges are pretty moderate. For US$ auctions, it's a very small percentage of any winning bid - for any other currency, $1 per winning bid.

As with nearly all such sites, losing bids don't cost anything

i find it almost as easy, if you remember to and are around when auction ends, to just manually snipe by having the auction open in two windows bidiing in one and having current price in the other. allow a bit for any delay in sending the info however

If you use a sniping program, you'll have to accept giving them your account details.

How can anyone bid on your behalf without knowing them?

Just try to pick a professional-looking one...

Seems strange that there are a number of seemingly identical snipers with different names using the same "auctionstealer" domain name. The home pages seem identical.

    e.g.
    http://www.auctionstealer.com
    http://auctioninsights.auctionstealer.com
    http://hammertap.auctionstealer.com
    http://lotsnipe.auctionstealer.com
    http://sniper.auctionstealer.com

    ... and maybe more.

And the statistics pane has the same figures for all of the above.

Am I right to be suspicious?

Why so many identical snipers on the same domain name?

JBidWatcher runs locally on your PC, so you never need to give your eBay password to anybody.

It's free, and available at http://www.jbidwatcher.com

The current price should not affect how much you are prepared to bid. I hope you don’t increase your maximum bid if it is below the current price.

I usually snipe as it gives the best chance of winning but I decide what my maximum bid is and snipe that amount about 8 seconds before the auction ends.

I refresh the auction with about 60 seconds to go. If the price has gone above my maximum I forget about it. If it is still below my maximum I prepare my bid and enter it with about 8 seconds to go.

I have used auction sniper a few times if I know I will not have PC access.

I like Auctionsniper as do Webuser magazine.

as with most of these mentioned here you need to register your ebay login details with Auctionsniper to use the service. In return you get 6 free snipes.
