Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Thursday 8th Sept. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all
I'm up at silly o'clock again, so I feel an early night coming on tonight.
Very busy at work, made worse by someone ordering 10000 copies of a document instead of 100, things got a little heated when he realised the charges would come out of his budget, it seems I 'should know how to count' I do know, he'd written the wrong instruction & was most annoyed when I produced the paperwork to prove the error was his, lol.
My fingers are like fat little sausages, stiff & painful, hopefully they will ease soon.
I've applied for a Saturday job to boost our income, keep your fingers crossed for me.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning Hester, SC and all who follow,

Yesterday at work was really busy but it was lovely to see my pupils again.
Another busy day today but as it is one of my colleagues birthdays I know that we will have cake!

Tonight I am off out for a drink with a few friends and I don't have to cook tea as DD1 is making lasagne at school.:D

Hugs too all in need of them.

    Beth thinking of you

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

Morning folks. Was up v early when DH went off for an early start and decided to stay up. Think it might be a shock to my system later as alarm went at 4.15 - eeek.
Hester - good luck for Sat job. Hope it's something that will make a nice change from Mon-Fri for you. Good for you re the colleague who didn't pay attention to the 0s!
Betheebee- thinking of you today and sending a (((hug))).
Poured with rain here earlier but I think it is easing a bit now.
Tea tonight is gammon and salad for DH and a chicken flavoured (veggie) roast slice and salad for me. It was one of those packet things that you mix up with water. Said serves 3 but this final slice will be my 6th so a great thing to stick in the oven and then keep in the fridge. I added chopped courgettes to it when making it up and will try out other bits with it next time.
Plans include cleaning fridge, loading up WM which hasn't been on for days and cleaning some (but not all  ) windows.
Am a bit tired so off to make a large coffee:coffee:
Have a good day peeps and (((hugs))) to those amongst us who are going through difficult times.

Good morning, all. Hester, I'm so glad you had kept the evidence and could prove him wrong. Hope today is better than yesterday.

    Beth - thinking of you.

Thank you everyone for your good wishes for my birthday yesterday. That's another one over and a really big one on its way for next year; I'm not in too much of a hurry for that one!

Today I have lots of silly little errands to run so I'm going to make a mega-effort to get them done one after the other, so that they aren't hanging around.

Dinner is as yet undecided but it includes pork chops!

Hugs to all in need today.

Morning Hester, sc, moor and wmf and all to follow:)

Hester glad you kept the evidence. one feather in your case.

Well after the two days of looking for vans we still haven't got one BUT i have found a really nice one with low mileage, comfy seats only prob is £7k +VAT. Ouch.

It wasn't all bad, in the end we went for a cheapish lunch in the metro centre on our way home. Also got to look at the various types of vans and prices, so now I have better idea of what OH wants to buy.

Everything that i cooked so far has been demolished quicker than i can cook it. So need to do some baking today. £1 for a cheap loaf in the corner shop. Nearly died at the price.

so very o/s day today, bread, snacks and going to my mates for a coffee and a nice break. We haven't seen each properly since the six weeks started so todays the day.

Know what you mean wmf, i even ventrued to the market, normally cheap beyond belief, but tuesday was expensive and the food was nearly off. Absolutely terrible.

Coddy's up so better sort him out.

(hugs) to those that need them, i need a large tea.

    Morning all,

Looks a bit grey here today, good job I am off to work, mind you it was freezing there yesterday, there is no way I will put my heating on at home yet, but I hope they do at work soon :D

Dinner tonight will be something with chips and peas, will go and rummage in the freezer. Sainsbugs are also delivering tonight.

Beth I shall be thinking of you today, hope all goes well xx

DD does not have to go into college today, so I will leave her some jobs to be getting on with. I will do a wash tonight and hang on the airer.

    Have good days all xx

    Morning everyone

Be - thinking of you today x

Overcast, and dull this morning. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.

Dinner last night was delicious casserole, was very tasty. Set oven on auto timer and took DS1 to get his safety boots for his college course that starts today, and looked at the ladies shoes, found a gorgeous pair of black stilettos, just had to have them! In fairness have got 2 big "do's" over the next few weekends - have 2 lovely dresses I bought in the sale but now the weather has turned I'm going to need a wrap or shawl to go round my shoulders in case it's cold! Will ring mum to see if she has said garment later.

Tonight's dinner will be fish, chips/jacket potato, b/beans/veg - so nice and easy. Have loads to do today, have haircut at 9am, then will be returning home to tackle, washing, drying and ironing, packing, housework, menu plan, shopping list, cooking/baking, and doing some work on pc for rally we're doing next year. So much for day's off!!

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Beth I will be thinking of you today - positive vibes sent your way (((((((Hugs))))))

Well it is grey and raining here so no washing today. I will do it tomorrow because it supposed to be the best day of the week.

Shopping today, but I don't need much again :D , mind you I went to the fridge this morning and found 12 eggs that go out of date today :( I can't believe I missed that......I see a massive bake in when I get back.

DS brought his timetable home last night and it looks like he has some very long days 9.00am - 7pm  but only for two days a week, he is not at college now until Tuesday next week though.

Still no joy with a foldable scooter from ebay I got trounced on one last night :( I swear that there are a lot of dealers grabbing all the folding ones because they are the most useful

Well I am off for a shower

    Have good days all x
