YouTube is the big data-hog in all of this, yeah. I try to watch what i can on the W995 but the quality is low, it's glitchy and the screen is too small to really make out details. Subscribed to a lot of people with 10-20 new videos coming in every day, so it would be nice to plug in some headphones and watch the odd video during a free-moment to kill some time; waiting for public transport comes to mind. Also means i can spend less time on the computer!0

"If you join T-Mobile before 30 September 2011 and select a 24-month price plan of £25 a month or more, the good news is that there's no fair use policy."
Seems almost too good to be true but it's there in black and white and maybe what Grumbler was originally pointing out. I cannot post a link due to being a new member but if you go to the T-Mobile site and go right down to the bottom, click the fair use policy and it will be near the top on that page. If this is truly no fair use then i will take up the offer for sure.
fair use and speed restrictions are two things of different calibre remember !SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
Not sure what you meant by that, can you elaborate?0

He means that while promising unlimited amount they allegedly may artificially restrict the speed either permanently or after you hit some limit.
BTW, no, you have not misunderstood me above. I didn't meant T-mobile.0 -
Indeed, T-Mob have one of the most complex internet usage polices
Certain plans/data bundles get 3G (384kbps) only not 3G+ (HSPDA) which is anything over 3G speeds
XGB usage for streaming then XGB browsing and that can be either speed restricted or not.....
Virgin resell T-Mobile and Virgin fought for these "measures" to be removed from thier reseller customers portfolio as a reseller as the contract between both parties stated no such internet restrictions as 3G+ didnt exist at the time both parties signed up - Virgin won them backing down as T-Mob did not want a public court battle and Virgin were well up for it as a breach of contract - that came from a HIGH level accountant I knew who worked at T-Mob at the time this went on, ironic the guy moved jobs to a subsiduary Virgin Mobile company abroadSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... Darn, that sounds disappointing. If i contacted the people at T-Mobile through an e-mail about this subject, do you think they would respond with honesty and detail (or respond at all)? As much as i would like to pay £25'ish a month versus £35, if there is a chance the speeds will be limited then i might just bite the bullet and go with Three after all to avoid such gambles.0

If they do this, they will never admit this.
Either take the gamble or search the net for a reliable information. Beware of many urban myths flying around.0 -
Looks like i've got a bit of research to do. Thanks for the assistance, hopefully i can find some relevant information.0

Can I suggest you look at the Samsung Galaxy S. It is the previous model and I think there is very little difference beween the two phones.
I got this phone the day before the Galaxy SII came out - I did not know there was a newer model coming out.
I got mine from Carphone Warehouse on Orange contract for £20 per month. The phone was free.
I also use my phone like a small tablet and make very few calls and texts per month.
My package includes 200 minutes calls, unlimited texts and 500 mbs data.
I have found this more than adequate for my needs.
This is a great phone.Born to shop;)0 -
Just wondering whether you need all that data ?. If you have wireless internet at home, you can connect through that, it will be faster and won't use any of your mobile data allowance.
I've had an HTC desire for the last 15 months (seriously considering S2 also) with 500mb and i've only ever used 300mb, which includes using facebook, twitter and internet browsing.
The key is whether you have wireless at home.........0
