What is living under the dog poo?

Sorry if you are eating!!
I've just cleaned up the dog poo in the garden and I cleaned one lot up and picked up half to see something scurrying away under the bit I had left behind, cleaned that up and there was a there was a long tunnel that was big enough for me to put my finger into.
My husband said it looked like a slo worm tunnel but under dog poop? I am not sure. I often see dung beetles and they are quite small - they could not have made that tunnel, I was just curious as to what it might be. I have put some more dog poo over the hole to entice it out again (LOL, yes really) but anyone have any ideas what on earth it might be.

I forgot I posted this, it has been a bit wet today and I had to leave it to disintegrate a bit, I think it'll be dry enough for me to lift it tomorrow - I have gloves, LOL. Each time I look out I wonder what on earth it is.
If it is a slo worm tunnel then the slo worm has not been out of it as the poo was intact except some something moving within it. All the more wired. i will be getting my husband to take pictures as well. LOL. If I find anything, I will be letting you know.0 -

Nothing. I've tried several experiments and went out armed with rubber gloves and a camera, but I have seen nothing since.
