Joint account help - one low credit rated partner the other high??!!

Hi there,
My partner and I have decided to get a joint account to start saving, the thing is, I have quite low credit rating, however his is quite high, so firstly, what should we look at, i.e. what are the best joint accounts, and will my low rating restrict the kind of accounts we can get even though his is high (we are un married but live together).
Any advice would be much appreciated!
Many thanks,
Lisa

Halifax reward account, £5 free each month. Always think hard about joint accounts, if you split it can turn nastyDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

If you are only wanting to open a savings account, I don't think these create a financial link like other products do (Current account etc), so shouldn't make a difference to either of your credit files.0

When you say low what do you mean? no credit history or defaults/ccjs? If you defaults that could bring your partners credit rating down a lot, and may not get accepted for future credit. If it's little or no credit history, the joint account could help bring yours up a bit if the account was managed well.
Go for a savings account if you have defaults or worse on your credit file.0
