Parking fine - paid late

Hi guys, the letter would say that £60 is final payment and the matter is closed.
I don't want the missus to worry about threatening letters etc.
Do you actually think that will work? You WILL get threatening letters, I got those letters myself and I am 'just' an ordinary wife and Mum. Private parking companies use a mail scam, that's how they work and some people believe the letters and the fake PCN and pay them. Sadly you fell for it, but don't compound your error by writing to them. They are not reasonable people, this is not a 'normal industry', it's one step down from thug private clampers.
But when you understand it's a scam, like a phishing email, you can laugh at the threatograms and so can your wife. They would have sent you the same letters whether you had paid £60 or not, you have been had.
Show your wife a pic of the next letter to come so you are ready. You will find the letters in the top thread 'PPC letters, what to expect'.
Then show her the Watchdog clip. You will find that linked to the sticky thread you must have read(!) as it's called 'welcome, please read before posting'. Both permanently at the top, for info:

I promise you when your wife sees the Watchdog clip and the letter previews and KNOWS that this is a scam, and realises you threw £60 at it which could have been spent on something nice, she will not expect you to throw more money away.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

As soon as your payment arrived you were marked as a soft touch! They have moved on to the next process you paid once lets have another bite!
It matters not what you now write and tell them they will continue with their letter chain!0 -
all those who say 'its just an invoice' are correct, but it can and will be followed up by court proceedings, i hope not everybody relies on them 'not bothering' because the constant advise of ignoring it when you have broken the rules, will lead some people to ccj's.Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000 -

Dave sorry to contradict some of your advice, but the actual loss they COULD take action to recover is merely a trifle, and the law does not concern itself with trifles, They would probably be laughed out of court with the beak's boot up their backside for imposition of a rip off CIVIL excessive PENALTY which is a big NO NO in a civil action.0 -

What absoloute tosh. Failing to pay a scammers invoice will not result in a CCJ. I do not know your motives for posting this nonsense but it is doing nobody but the scammers any good.Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!0 -
I think Dave101t's signature explains a lot!0

Perhaps it would have been better if the OP had 'toughed it out' for a while and waited for the later (desperate) letter offering reduced settlement at the original amount

Beggars belief how many times Dave has been thanked in his posts, I just hope the poor sods who did weren't relying on similar advice to what he has dished out on here, otherwise they will be in deep doodoo.
"it will be followed up by court proceedings" is actually a lie, having had dealings with Roxburghe I can assure anybody that court proceedings were definitely not "followed up" and Roxburghe ran a mile when confronted with threats to bring in the police, trading standards etc.0 -
This demonstrates that PPC's will commonly pursue payers for extra charges if they fall for it the first time.
Paying to 'make them go away' has the opposite effect.0
