Firefox not performing UK searches on Google

Currently using Firefox/3.6.21 - I do not like the latest version and I am happy to stick with this version.

However having just come back from holiday - my laptop does not automatically perform UK searches on Google

Have read various threads - but I cannot find a simple solution

Any ideas?

OK, I have saved it on http://pastebin.com/VtdckTZ8 download it and save it. Then rename it to MyGoo.xml, and follow the original instructions. PS which version of Windows have you ? the instructions are for W7 /Users/yourname/AppData/Roaming/Mozilla/Firefix/Profiles/yourprofile/searchplugins/MyGoo.xml

  • Hi,

when on your home page, have you tried clicking the wee gear wheel in top right hand corner and then search settings?

The instructions DCM gave do work. Which part are you having trouble with?

You may have to create the "searchplugins" subfolder within your profile folder (Profiles/yourprofile/searchplugins).

To quickly get to your profiles folder, press the Windows key and R to get the run dialog, then copy paste the following:
    %appdata%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles (enter)

Then doubleclick on whichever folder is your profile; by default it'll be a random string of characters.

I've hosted DCM's custom search .XML here (right click, save as):

Haha cheers, looks like a useful feature! I wonder how you could reliably package them to automatically install - then it could be offered to Firefox users in the forum.
