Tesco doesn't take coupons anymore

Used 4 coupons to get £3.50 of a £22 shop today with no problems"what lies behind us & what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us" Ralph Waldo Emerson0

I went tescoing this morning but felt that I was being watched to see if I handed over any vouchers - I didn't ..........
But even the health and beauty vouchers have been refused in the past week when I tried them. The SA stated I had not spent £5 (even though it was before bogof) so he said technically I was only spending 2.50 and therefore could not use the voucher. Others have said whilst buying several items in one go that no duplicates of health and beauty vouchers can be accepted !
Again, it depends on the local store policy, the supervisors, the cashiers and the weather ........ I used to carry around the voucher policy but found that showing it to a voucher hating supervisor was completely pointless as they already have their own rules.

Used £4.50 worth of coupons today in Mr T's, also used a wombled extra points voucher for 150 points (pet care one) and managed to get the points without buying any Petcare stuff :T
If Mr T's stopped accepting vouchers them I would have to shop elsewhere

I would have to stop using Tesco's if they stopped taking coupons,i have to travel 22 miles to my nearest Mr T's but my sister and her three daughters all go and split the petrol so its worth the travel.
Asda are just about to put a shop up in our town so i would just use them if the coupons stopped. Not Buying it 2015!0 -
I dont normally shop at TEsco. normally go to Asda but after reading all the Tesco posts and how much people have saved I thought I might start saving me some coupons and start shopping there.
I went to a massive superstore (24hour) and I asked the girl on customer services who told me that I could spend any amount on vouchers as long as I bought the actual product. She told me that the TILL would be able to tell if i had bought the product and if I had not bought the product, they would be rejected. I didnt have any to try at the till to see if they would work. Dont know whether to shop there again or give it a miss.0 -

Well today, I had a bit of hassle with coupons.
I had:
£1.25 beauty
£1.25 toiletries
£1.00 magazine voucher (from goodie bag)
£0.50p baxter voucher
£0.49 slim fast snack coupon.
40 points for pasta sauce
SA scanned a few, then complained that I hadn't purchased any of the items! Luckily, I had purchased the slim fast, A magazine (not the one for the voucher, but best, for 0.40p) and a pasta sauce, so she assumed the magazine was the one for the voucher, the pasta sauce was for the baxter coupons. Then I pointed out that I had purchased toiletries (I bought 2 Johnsons body wash) So she was happy, and continued scanning!!
Close shave, though.
So my bill was £.6.44 prior to vouchers and after BOGOF of Johnsons body wash, then £1.95 afterwards! :j
I have to go back next week to collect some photos for work, for which I will use a 100 points coupon for, so will see if I can get the Johnsons body wash again!"I did then, what I knew then. And when I knew better, I did better"0 -
A friend of mine went to Tesco tonight, and only uses coupons for items she pays for, but the SA scoured through a £70 pound shopping receipt to make sure!!"I did then, what I knew then. And when I knew better, I did better"0

The part of your post that I have highlighted in bold is absolutely untrue, LOL!!!!
A lot of cashiers think this, which is why they scan away happily, but the CS is misinformed if she believes that load of tosh! The till can only 'tell' if you are using Tesco logo coupons (like the Shreddies one in their free mag) but cannot tell with other coupons (like the Lindt choccy bunny one in the leaflet inside Tescos January free mag...;) ).
And BTW, do check what your Asda's coupon policy is too. I have 2 Asdas near me....one says 'only one coupon even if buying the product' and even moaned when I used a £5 George clothing one against a legit purchase of George clothing! They haven't seen me for dust since that day except to exchange a DVD for a gift card that I then took to..........
......my other local Asda where they accept every legit coupon I can offer them (not book tokens or store logo ones though). They see me in there a fair bit when I want a change from Tesco, and if my Tescos stop accepting coupons and end the R&R policy, I will be changing my avatar as I won't shop there any more!
P.S. Got £10 of shopping for £1.50 using Quitkit healthcare and other coupons today!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
