toys, anything that rolls, bits of string, curtains (great for climbing!) :D
Cats don't have owners - they have staff!! :D:p

My cat loves to sleep in an old box with an old fleece in it. I wouldnt bother with a bed. Toys, mine plays with pens and the practice light weight golf balls and polystyrene eggs. She has never played with anything I have actually ever bought for her. She does use her scratch post alot as well as the carpet, sofa, dining chairs, sea grass baskets, the curtains are for climbing up. Her favourite game is to wake me up at 5am by clawing my feet under the covers :) Enjoy

Ah, congrats. You must be excited.

Please pick a good food for her. The above links for pet forums are very comprehensive. Rule of thumb is stay away from anything available in the supermarket. I feed natures manu from pets at home, £18 for 48 pouches in store and 70+% meat. But their purely is also decent food, wet and dry. If you order online you can get a fantastic range of great foods. Don't be tempted by whiskas, gocat, iams, felix offers. They are terrible foods. I believe kittens should be fed as much as they like (I think, I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong).

I have several cat beds, none of which are used lol, piles of washing, chairs, beds are all preferable for my cats lol. If they like it, they sleep on it, whatever it is.

Mine love laser lights and balls too. All boxes and bags are toys also lol. Apparently the best game ever is getting up on the shelves/sides and knocking things off. Although they do both have a toy they take everywhere with them, they never actually play with it, just carry it about and bring it to me.

    Good luck.

Thank you for all your advice!

Now i have another question... we are thinking of bring home her sister too!

The cost will be fine of an extra cat, but do you think it will be better to get Millie and friend too? Or will she be ok just on her own? Im scared she will be lonely :'( lol

    Any advice welcome!

    go for them both!

i didnt realise my boy was lonely until i got him a girlfriend last year.

they seem to spend the night chasing each other around the house.

oh, and i must have weird cats as they actually seem to mostly sleep in their beds! or, it could be because i have so many beds it would be more effort to avoid them than to actually use them!! : 0
  • Two would be great, easier to introduce to each other now as they are already together and young enough to accept each other, they can also keep each other company when you are not around like at 2am :), I spoke to a lady last week and she said it really worked for her getting brothers as they entertained eachother. My lovely little lady likes to wake me for a midnight play.
  • 2 is a good idea, we just got our cat a friend. They are getting on really well and he definitely needed a friend to play with.

Better to do it now than a year down the line like we did. While my 2 are getting on really well, they may not have and it could have been a disaster!

  • Definitely get two. My DD did just that, two days ago. Her old girl was put down a few weeks ago with mouth cancer, and my other two are both 10 years old. The kittens play, sleep and explore together (at the moment the old cats, and the dog, are determined to pretend they're not here).

I've always fed Whiskas and Felix wet food, with GoCat Senior and Whiskas Indoor always available. I do have reservations. The cats never have digestive problems, their coats are lovely, but there is a nagging question whether T's cancer was diet-related. I will think about changing the old pair onto Natures Menu.

Favourite toys are balls of foil, feather sticks, each other's tails and ears! DD is going to get a laser pointer. We've never had a cat that would use a cat bed when nice human beds are available (or piles of clean washing...), though the old female often settles down with my terrier in his bed!
