Free top-up by requesting PAC?

Just been sorting out my sister's mobile phone (needs to port her number from o2 to Orange so she can use my old contract phone).

When I was requesting the PAC code from o2, I was repeatedly offered money off my next topup - in the end receiving an offer for a free £20 topup to stay with o2. Are offers like this commonplace with other service providers, and can they effectively be used for free topup (ie will the service provider make a record of how many times you get a free offer, or can you do it repeatedly)?

I don't think this is common and I am pretty sure you cannot get free credits on a regular basis.

Having said that, I think in the long run it can be more cost-efficient to unlock your phone and use it with some other PAYG provider with more reasonable PAYG prices. However, there are some decent topup rewards at Orange too.

Not quite on the same line, but when I asked Tesco mobile to get my phone unlocked, they gave me £30 worth of calls & texts.

If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

To my knowledge there are incentives which all the networks can use to retain a VALUABLE pay and go customer. This can be free air time, an 'invitation' only tariff or a free/discounted handset.

However, the accent is definitely on valuable customer. So long serving with a decent monthly spend.
