    Oh no, he's back.
    The respite is over.
Let's take him off ignore for a moment and see if he has anything worthwhile to say

Did you have me on ignore lite?
    You've never mentioned it. :D

Therefore it's quite reasonable to understand that the fluctuations are affected by the very method of their calculation.
Unless of course you are of the opinion you believe that Scottish House Prices are so volatile to fluctuate £30k (approx 20%) over a few months

Its not unreasonable at all. Which no doubt is why I have made a point of highlighting exactly the same on a number of occasions.
Particularly around those "new peaks" as I recall.

Point 2 - I didn't choose the very end of 2007. If you look closely the start date is exactly 4 years ago from the latest release.

Ah. I see. So you didn't actually choose 2007 (i.e. the peak of the bubble). You chose 4 years.
Which is quite a different thing. And clearly its worthwhile clarifying this important and critical distinction. Sigh.

If you wish this to go back further, I'm happy to oblige.

How does this look for you?

Well yes I did rather want you to do that, thanks.
And as expected, those "seasonal variations" of £30K simply don't appear to have existed prior to 2007.
Something else I've made a point of highlighting previously.

As Hamish said "they were there...only smaller". :rotfl:

I would expect to be looking at a graph other than prices vs time to be able to tell whether there were any seasonal effects prior to 2007.

Gee, houses used to be REALLY REALLY cheap didn't they?
I bet lots of people were really pleased with themselves when they bought back then.
Just thought I'd highlight that for you. :D

    Got a link for it.
    It could be interesting.

Not for the one house I mentioned, because I didn't pay much attention to who has it listed, but here is another in my area, which is typical of house prices here.
I suspect the reason prices are so low here is simple...we are so remote, it takes a particular type of person to want to live here!

    LOL.

So you have him on ignore.

But then go to all the trouble to show everyone, edit screenshots and upload them, to show us all you are "ignoring him".

You then justify your decision to take him off ignore, by telling us you'll see what he's saying.

No wonder you had a respite. This "ignoring" lark causes you a lorra work!

    Your point????????

I had him on ignore as I was bored of his constant, repetative ramblings, not willing to accept or discuss in detail any salient points made.

He'd been PPR'd and as such I admit, curiosity got the better of me to see if he still kept up the same style.

To be fair, it seemed a couple of posts between the two of us, there was ope for a discussion / debate.

Alas, it seems to have worn off quickly going by the post above.
    Ah well, it was expected.

You have a great night Graham.
You must be glad you can hold on to geneers coat tails again.

Is this likely to impact on house prices in Aberdeen I wonder?

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-north-east-orkney-shetland-14825343
An application has been submitted for a massive new town development in Aberdeenshire.
Developers want to build 9,000 homes at Chapelton of Elsick, about 10 miles south of Aberdeen, as well as school provision and retail space.
It would be situated at a 2,000-acre area of farmland near Newtonhill.
The application, by the Elsick Development Company (EDC), has gone to Aberdeenshire Council for consideration.
The land is owned by the Duke of Fife and the project is being managed by his son David Southesk.
Lord Southesk, director of the Elsick Development Company, said: "It has taken a great deal of work and commitment to get to this point.
"Chapelton will not only provide a substantial economic boost to the area, but offers an opportunity to create a new style of living that will undoubtedly provide home buyers with a vibrant community in the north east of Scotland.
"It's situated very close to the A90 corridor."

I don't usually follow house prices (I rent) but I have noticed locally house prices falling quite dramatically over the past few months. An example is a crofthouse that a couple of years ago would have sold for over two hundred thousand, is now up for sale at one twentyfive. That's quite a big difference. :)

with that kinda drop, it could be subsidence...
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

As I recall you put me on ignore because I readily discredited your salient points and you found yourself on the losing side of a extended argument.

Wouldn't you know it, it involved discussions of average prices in Scotland.
