Erm...I hate to point out that I already said OU courses were FUNDED if you are on a low income or pension but you WILL NOT get any other funding, which is what the OP is after.

Paragraphs 69 & 70 do not apply to my post on Page 2 of this thread, if you had taken the time to read.0

Also I may well study dance ( I rise above your attempt to ridicule my age and disability)- If the course is available that is my right. I suppose to an accountant (I'm being generous in my description) that doesn't add up.
So you think you have worked out my age based upon my Username? hm, well done Sherlock, (Add 5 years on and you;ve got it)
I reiterate - Please pick up the phone and ring the government. then you can relate to us the conversation you have had regarding funding and whether or not you are eligible for it.
I will give you a clue - if they say "yes" then you are, if they say "no" then you are not.
My comment regarding "dance" was not aimed at your age or "disability" (have you mentioned this before?!? or adding fuel?) it was aimed at the fact I , personally, do not believe your intentions are to educate yourself, i beleive they are to obtain monies from the govt to fund your retired lifestyle because you, like everyone else, feels bitter and hard done by by the financial crisis we are in. I could swap "dance" for "speaking klingon" or "the spice girls" and my point would be the same. this is my OPIONION based upon your posts, tone of posting and questions raised. It is you're right to disagree, it is my right to post.0

Firefox - yes you have a right to your views and a right to post, I would defend them along with my right to follow whichever course I choose (and qualify for), and seek out any funding to which I am entitled.
Have you ever tried to contact any govt department and get accurate and definitive information, I do this regularly as part of my job and I can assure you it is almost impossible.
Taiko - the original post referred to loans but yes grants are relevant also. Can you confirm the maintenance loan qualification please. You surely understand that to make such a serious commitment, I and all others, need all information possible to plan and ensure that the course can be completed. I (all) would not wish to find out part way through that I (all) could not afford to continue to a successful completion.0

PMing me about it, asking for my help, not a chance. Answers are known, but you're really not worth my time.0

It looks like early retirement is on the cards and a full time degree course for both of us! That will bring in my pension and at least £15k per year (probably plus other benefits) which would better my current earnings without all the stress of a hated job, and improve my mind. Isn't education a wonderful thing.
Wonder if I can find a 5 year course
15k? Where are you getting that from?0

My reply to Taiko's last post seems to have been pulled. It appears that if freedom of expression includes criticising Taiko's accuracy and morals it is not allowed, perhaps it was too close to the truth, post followers will never be allowed to know. I notice that posts criticising my accuracy and morals were not pulled.
Who is the anonymous Taiko that he (she or it) wields so much power.0

Wow i just realised that my last post criticising the pulling of my previous post criticising Taiko will also probably be pulled - Oh no!! so will this!!
If not why was I not allowed to edit and re-post my previous pulled post?0

It wasn't Taiko (well, it might have been as well), it was me. I think your posts are becoming abusive, and reported them as such. The mods obviously agreed, but only about your last one - I was rather hoping they'd pull the whole thread.
Taiko is an expert in this area, and you have been far from respectful to them. Experts come on here and make a decision about whether or not they wish to share their expertise, and that is a valid thing to do. No one has to answer any question put.
For the record, you liked my comments as an admissions officer. I won't be offering any more comments to help you.0

Wyndham - I questioned Taiko's expertise because it was factually incorrect. The posts were judgemental and deliberately unhelpful. my ability and morals were questioned without good cause by Taiko and others. An "expert" should give advice without judgement or lose the respect he (she or it) obviously demands. Surely as an admissions officer you too should have been able to answer the questions posed originally but you too chose to only judge my morals, motivation, and ability.
I will not be bullied out of this forum and my quest for information for all grey students by holyier-than-thou forum bullys0
