I always knew that you paid the price on the day of delivery (same as Argos reservations, it's as per day of collection); but you do have to check whether offers expire before your delivery date.
Yes I think, I know 'mysupermarket.co.uk' does I ordered and yet to recieve they have 20minutes left on the clock I just checked and seen that an Item I have ordered has now gone up 50% in price over night. their was no indication that is was a sale price or it was set to expire. the new price £1.48 which they claiming is sale price from £1.52.. Asda has never sold at £1.52 or price bounce on this such item.
I was aware of the price policy but call me conspiracy theorist I'm well aware of Asda pricing history for these bags of sweets and they never once price bounce till today. I have a feeling they are gona take the money from my bank twice.. As I've read people being charged twice as Asda puts in a pre payment set for release if the price has changed since delivery they then put in another pre payment then the bank takes this as two seperate transactions and asda takes twice the money.
I will keep you informed but I'll be !!!!ed if they charge me twice and all because of a bag of sweets.
Here's a Google webcache of mysupermarket.co.uk @2nd september:

Now the new price today:

I always assumed Asda was not a price bouncer in the same ways as Tesco, Sainsbury or Morrisions and generally their prices was static. I know Tesco and the rest vary prices according to peak and off peak sales of items and that Asda would put the actual price they was looking for. Where as Tesco vary the price to encorag and bump up their sales output
Normally Saibsburys sell those sweets for around £1.55 but will occasionally sell for as low as £0.70/£0.75 where as Asda just keeps the normal £1.00 price all year round. Obviously not today and they now have 7minutes to deliver my goods
Edit: Delivery arrived 30minutes late, failed to inform me by text when arrival was due but did attempt to call & left voice mail 3minutes before their time slot expired to say they was running late due to 'traffic'0 -
I bought online some haagan daaz ice cream when on offer.... they charged me full price. I went to the store (the store that did my order) to complain and they told me that they were not partaking of the offer and I had to pay the store price. I was furious I caused such a fuss they had to refund me the money but I would warn everyone to check the price on the order chitty when you get your order and give the stuff back to the del guy for a refund.xXx-Sukysue-xXx0

I know what you mean, I also did my delivery from asda last night for this morning. I ordered 2x 2ltr bottles of coke, last night on their website they were £1.25 a bottle and they were on offer at 2 for £3 (don't understand their thinking behind that!). Order arrived at 9am this morning, checked the delivery note and I have been charged £1.78 per bottle. I phoned up to complain and because it's in their t's and c's they can charge what they like on the day of delivery. I wasn't very happy and won't be shopping with them again as there was no possibility of ordering and getting a delivery for last night for me to get the prices advertised. Think it's wrong.£2013 in 2013 £866.71/£2013

Isn't this the same with any of the online shops (Sainsbury's, Tesco etc) where the price is only a guide price, and the actual cost will be on the day it is picked from the store sending the products.
No, Ocado state "the price of the goods will be as quoted on the web site at the time you confirm your order" with the exception of certain fresh foods sold by weight, when it will be be "the price on the date that they are weighed by our supplier".
http://www.ocado.com/webshop/content/ws5/customerServices/termsAndConditions/purchasetermsandconditions
The reason that Ocado charge the website price is because they operate from dedicated warehouses, so when you order a can of baked beans from Ocado, you are actually buying one. The likes of ASDA, Tesco etc don't have dedicated warehouses, so when you order something from their online store all you're doing is generating a packing list which one of their stores will then use to process you order at a later date. The sale will be generated when the store actually process the order using (naturally) the prices on their system at that time.
So if you order online from ASDA, Tesco etc you are always accepting the risk that there will be a price change in the intervening period, and with ASDA the risk is much higher because their 'rollback' promotions have no specified end dates and can change at any time.
Which is one of the reasons I don't shop online at ASDA, Tesco etc.
P.S. Or with Ocado as it happens. I just knew that they were different.0 -
Seems crazy to me, the woman also told me that with online orders the minimum of weighed products you could order was 1KG, I told her she was incorrect as I had many times ordered and received less than 1KG, but she did in the end refund me nearly £2 as I only ordered 100g of courgettes but received nearly 1.1KG! As stated earlier, I won't be shopping at Asda anymore even if they do claim to be 10% cheaper, at least Tesco and Sainsburys our honest about when their promotions are due to end and inform you BEFORE you pay for your shopping.£2013 in 2013 £866.71/£2013

hi all, am bumping this thread because I have had this problem this morning and am so annoyed, and I figured bumping this one instead of starting a new one would put similar probs on one thread rather than making an extra one.
Anyhoo, got my Asda shop this morning and had SIX products with a price increase since last night adding a further £4.18 to my shopping bill on top of the extra you end up paying when you order weight defined stuff. I've had it on the odd item before but six is taking the proverbial in my opinion, so I rang the helpline, told her what the problem was and which items they were and she said because it was not a promotion it was a general price increase then there was nothing they could do. Then I said I wanted to speak to someone who could pass on my concerns about this stupid policy, and was duly left on hold for 15 minutes and counting when I finally decided life was too short.
My bug bear is that because I suffer from ME I am unable to go and physically do the shopping myself at times (which is a shame because when I am fit enough I go to Aldi and get much better quality and value), and that leaves you at the mercy of internet home shopping, and I can't refuse the products I need because I can't get out to the shops and buy them at a better price elsewhere. It leaves you over a barrel. I know their policy is clear when you are choosing the things you need but it does feel like you are playing russian roulette with your finances because you can't be confident you're making the right decisions as to what to buy and their refusal to review this policy and honour the prices advertised at the time of order is poor customer relations and I for one will not be using Asda again as a result.:rotfl: Em xx :rotfl:0 -
Hi I've had the same problem today - shopping came to £3.88 more than it was at 9.30 last night - including a 3 pack of tuna which was £1.88 more expensive! I rang the customer service number and was told I'd get a refund to my card within the next few days. Also a refund of £3 for the chicken thighs dated tomorrow. I must have had a helpful person answer my call!0

 Asda did this to me on my hen weekend. We ordered 6 bottles of wine, on the 3 for a tenner offer. Bbut, when they came, we were charged £6.00 per bottle, leaving me out of pocket by £16! I was not a happy bunny. I have emailed customer services about it, but surprise, surprise, they havent got back to me. I know that it says in the t&c about being charged that price on the day, but surely, they must be able to make a phone call or something to confirm that you still want to go ahead with the sale, especially at that much of a price difference!!
It was the one and only time I have ever done my shopping on line and it has completely put me off doing it again!Married the absolute love of my life on Sunday May 6th and I couldnt be happier!!!0 -
I just think it's underhand, surely it's not too hard to get their web people to write a bit of script that brings up a box or something alerting you to an imminent price increase or end of a promotion, it would be more open and honest of them. If you think about how many home orders they must deliver in a day, and all those people have one or two (or six as in my case!) items delivered at a higher price, that's a fair bit of money they're making out of other people's good faith.
I have to say that as yet I've never noticed it happen in the customer's favour, where prices have gone down overnight and not up.:rotfl: Em xx :rotfl:0 -
When I ordered with Sainsbury's last week it told me to choose my delivery slot FIRST and then the offers available on that date would be shown. If i just search the site before booking some of the offers don't appear. Also, they say 'For Delivery Before [date]' on the offers too.
It states above the Delivery booking page 'Once you've chosen a delivery time, we'll find the latest product information and special offers for that date. If you amend your booking later, please remember these offers may change.'0
