Depends on what speed you've been offered.

It's lousy for 10Mbps excellent for 50Mbps and not bad for 30Mbps

So it's still 4 times faster if you go for 10 megs. But £16 a month is not very cheap for an 18m deal.
Bear in mind that VM practice heavy traffic shaping on all but the 50MBps tariff.
But then if you want internet access at home and only have a cable line, you don't have any other options.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

New users get 6 months free and then £13.50 a month. You may have to pay the install again although it is fairly trivial - fit a splitter and wire a cable to the modem and if you'd taken the lot at the start it would probably have been a free install (offers vary)

The only people in the VM bazaar with access to really good deals are retentions so what I'd do if I were you is call 150 and select the "I'm thinking of leaving" option. Explain that at the price you've been offered is way over what a new user would get and what will it cost you to cancel as you are considering ADSL instead. It's a pity you are only just into the contract as otherwise that would be a lot more believable.

sorry but its been a long day , do you mean i can ring retentions and say i am wanting to find out what its going to cost me to get out of a 12 month contract? i would be happy with just adsl but when i rang back was told its only for none cable areas , my head is banging for trying to work out they website, just wish i got it at when i took the contract out in march,
again thanks so much really need to get this sorted out

No I said you should ask what it is to cancel the cable phone and TV because the price they are asking for BB puts it much higher than you could get the bundle from Sky. Believe me you wouldn't want VM ADSL at any price.

Not bad. £33.90 is the standard new customer price for that bundle. You got the install free which is a bonus but missed out on the free months which you would have had if you'd taken it all at the time you originally signed up.

IMO what VM should do is offer standard prices rather than forcing their customers to haggle or get ripped off. It all smacks of a dodgy stall at a car boot site.
