Switching E-On Tarriffs

Mmmm, I've been a customer with e-on for a few years now and always been a good customer and they've always been a good company to deal with, but the messing around they're doing with the Save Online tariffs at the moment means I think they've changed as a company.
I'm on Saveonline 7 which guarantees my price to be at least 6% cheaper than standard, yet Saveonline 9 guarantees it to be only 2% cheaper, however Saveonline 9 is currently a lot cheaper than v7 because they are heavily discounting it (no doubt so it rises to the top of the best buys before their prices go up on the 13th Sept), but there is absolutely no guarantee it will stay that way and therefore by switching now, they could pull the additional discount and it suddenly ends up being more expensive than my own tariff. To me this is totally misleading for customers. I have even been advised by a member of their staff that I should swap as it is cheaper but when I questioned how long it would be cheaper for, they suggested that the additional discount could be pulled at any time, and clearly they wouldn't allow me back onto Saveonline 7 as it is an old product.
Keep a close eye on them folks0 -

That is correct but you have to be careful about your final bill and entering readings and requesting a new bill just before the switch if I remember correctly as your final bill will not be discounted.
I am awaiting specific guidance from Consumer Focus/Ofgem to confirm that this sneaky practice gets caught within Ofgem's Guidance Letter to Suppliers interpreting SLC 23 and SLC24.
Altering the discount structure when someone reacts to a unilateral contract change is clearly outwith the intentions of the Supply Conditions. (as clarified by the Guidance letter)
Eon have chosen to continue this appalling policy despite earlier representations. Hopefully, they will now be brought to account under the clarification issued. Having not done so voluntarily they open themselves to having to meet backdated claims.0 -
Just switched to SOL9.0
