BG will then take a direct debit of say £2 a month off me for 12 months and at the end of the year I will simpy refuse to pay the bill, even though my consumption is £800 more than that! I can just say U-Switch told me so......!
Do you think that will work, its the same principle as you are already stating!
As has been said above, U-Switch cannot predict exactly how much gas and electric you are going to use in a year. They depend on you providing them with the correct and accurate information and because it appears in this case that you havent you dont have a leg to stand on!
I do comparisons everyday for people looking to change supplier and it always has to be explained to them that the quote that is being provided is only as good as the information they are giving me!
To be fair also, how anyone, anywhere in the UK can still be with BG no matter what payment method they have is actually beyond belief!
I have not given you any advice yet, but I will - read the question first before you try to give people advice. (rolleyes twice)0 -
So the Bill you had in front of you had your annual consumption on it? Very unlikely!
It possibly had a quarterly consumption on it which either you, or the site has multipled by four and used as your annual consumption but unfortunately that is simply not good enough!
It my have been a summer bill or middle of the road bill without taking into consideration winter usage which would most definately make up at least a £90 deficit
Also prices at this point last year were approximately 20% less than they are now for electric which would affect your figures!0 -

Oh I am sorry, it seemed you were asking if U-Switch were liars and I have informed you that U-Switch can only provide an estimated quote based on the figures you have provided!
I will keep my 6 years experience of working in the industry to myself the next time!0 -
A lesson in simple maths - A bill is for a quarter (3 months)
Four bills (4 X 3 months) = 1 year0 -

I don't know how these sites make their calculations but they are generally wrong. After being informed how much I would save by changing, I used the actual tariff and my own meter readings to find that it would actually cost me more!!0
