good job I read the HSBC letter again before I sent my acceptance back. They said they can only go back to March 2005 due to only holding records 6yrs, but if I could send statements from earlier dates they would recalculate their offer. Good job I've kept them (as far back as Feb2004). They went back to today asking them to do some more number crunching. :j

    Happy new year :D:Dx
  • I sent my recalculations back to HSBC just before the new year by recorded delivery and I haven't had a reply yet. I know they have received it because it was signed for on 30/12/11. How long will I have to wait before I chase them up for a reply? They have already advised that I'm entitled to a refund so how come it's taking so long to revise my refund?
  • rang hsbc yesterday and I was told I could expect to receive a reply within the next 2 weeks. That's too long. It took me 5 minutes to add up the additional amount (excluding interest) and it would take seconds using modern technology for HSBC to add everything together, so why another 2 weeks? That would make it a total of another 6 weeks before I got a revised offer. I really hope it's worth waiting for. :(

just remembered my mortgage on my first house was settled 6yrs ago this March, and a loan I had was settled in June 2005. I think both had PPI on them. Is it possible for PPI claims to be made on them?
  • woo hoo. just got my recalc from HSBC. new offer £1148.00. massive increase on the original £648. so glad I kept all my statements. :j
