Leaving Vodaphone for Talk Mobile
Hi, I have come to the end of my Vodafone contract and am in possesion of my PAC code and have given 30 days notice to customer services. As I don't need an upgrade at the moment and Vodafone didn't offer anything worth making me stay for I am going to get a short term contract with Talk Mobile (either 1 or 6 months not decided yet) and would like a bit of advice on the following questions please!
1. How long does it take for my number to move across the networks?
2. How long before my PAC code expires should use it?
3. Will my vodafone sim just keep working until they port it, and at that point can I expect to put in the TM sim and it start working on my old number?
Sorry if I seem a bit dim with this but I have never changed networks before.

Vodafone have to give you the PAC within [STRIKE]1[/STRIKE] 2 hours.1. How long does it take for my number to move across the networks?

It expires in 30 days if you don't use it. In this case your contract will continue as a 1 month rolling one. Personally, I wouldn't procrastinate more than 25 days.2. How long before my PAC code expires should use it?
See the link above.3. Will my vodafone sim just keep working until they port it, and at that point can I expect to put in the TM sim and it start working on my old number?0 -

I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0
