USB to Jack Plug connector suggestions needed

My laptop has a front jack plug socket but I don't like using it as I am scared it will press against me and break. So I wondered if there were any connectors to allow me to use my USB socket on the side.

I have Googled but am not good at it....

You can get little inline USB sound cards to allow you to do this, it's your only option.

The 90 degree adapter is your best option.

You belly is unlikely to squash and bend anything then.

Just my experience, but I found the cheap usb sound cards sound like you're listening under water, in a biscuit tin. I ended up paying more for this one - http://www.amazon.co.uk/LINDY-USB-2-0-Audio-Adapter/dp/B000QY2G2U/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1315254735&sr=1-1

IMO, better to spend a little more (or reduce the belly size!)
