Wondering if someone can advise...
Have an orange phone, the battery no longer charges or holds it charge properly. I don't think its the charging unit its self thats not working properly as the phone shows that it is connected to the mains, however it could be the acutal phone or its batterey that is faulty.
Anyway i went to the Orange shop where i bought it from and they told me without even looking at it they would have to send it off to Orange for them to look at and decide what to do and during that time, i would be without a phone for whatever period of time it takes.
Is this acceptable within 6 months of purchase becasue being without your phone, can be a real pain?

Buy a backup handset for £3+£10 from CPW/osps/e2save/mobiles.co.uk through quidco/TCB. Sell the unwanted sim with credit or convert the credit into £6ish.
That said, the charging ports are very weak points of modern mobiles, especially micro-USB. If it is the case, be prepared to be blamed and charged for the repair.
Also, take good photos of the handset before sending it. And check the water damage indicators that have to be white and take the photos too.0 -
Agree with Grumbler. Unless contract agreed replacement handset, you don't get one.
They need to investigate if it is faulty manufacture or user damage and that needs a qualified repair centre.
Also don't be surprised if you get a refurb handset back - check Orange t&c.
get a very cheap unlocked Nokia or Alcatel handset from CPW, keep it forever - I guarantee you will need it again in the future.0 -
As far as I know, if you have bought a phone from Orange direct, either from an Orange Shop/online/customer services, they will replace the phone free of charge if it develops a fault in the first 6 months. This will be a refurbished phone but is better than a non working phone. I have had 3 different handsets replaced for family members and no problems with customer services at all.
edit - this will be a next day replacement and the courier will take the faulty phone with him when he arrives0 -
If it was bought from Orange give CS a call on 150 or 450, if they can't fixi it they'll sort out a replacement phone and have it couriered next day0
