hi there ladies and gents!! I am thinking of getting a phone from https://www.mobileshop.com, and I have read about a lot of praise for them from a year ago. More recent postings indicate they may have gone downhill.
If you have received a cashback cheque IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS please vote, if you last received a cashback cheque before that, please dont.

hi there- sorry if this seems familiar. I kinda mucked up the last thread. I was thinking of taking out a contract with mobileshop.com. It has been portrayed very highly in the last year, however in the last few months it has looked less attractive. Has it gone down hill?

yesThere has been much speculation (on these boards) concerning the financial situation of mobileshop.com. I have just reached the end of my first 12 month contract with them (2 phones), and have received 6/12 cashbacks (2/4 for each phone). My cheque for voucher C was dispatched on Monday (received official email confirmation), so I should receive that this week (leaving only my final cashback claim this month).
While it is true that there is a long window period (60 days after expiry), and it often exceeds this time period, mobileshop have always delivered the goods in my experience. As with all cashbacks the onus is on you to chase it up (which isn't ideal), but as long as you give them a friendly phone call to remind them your cheque is due, they seem to send it instantly. I've also found that payment by cheque is much quicker than the BACS method0 -
yesI, and everyone else I recommended Mobileshop to, have all received cashback in the last 6 months.
They are still the ONLY dealer I recommend 100%. They make sensible changes to their business model rather than conning customers out of cashback (see my post here). And I've still yet to hear of anyone having to issue a small claim against them.
They are not going to disappear anytime soon.

having to take out LEGAL action. (if you just complain and threaten them, then vote yes)I am not happy from them they keep making excuses for late payment.
My last cash back was over 85 days late.
When I took the contract out I was told it paid within 45 days.
I known they claim they would pay under 60 days but for me they took over 85 days.
I would never ever go back to them .0 -
I signed up for a 12 month contract at £35 per month with £420 cashback (i.e., 12 x £35). I gave the phone to my parents for when they phone across networks.
The first £105 arrived in my bank 65 days after I had received the email confirming receipt of my cashback claim (they offered me £110 worth of Argos vouchers instead of the £105). I need to claim the rest in due course but I don't expect any problems.
That said, I'm sticking with Vodaphone for my own phone.
