Hi
I'm still stuggling to sort out our Hen Day/Party so I was hoping some of you would share what you've done on any hen weekends/parties/nights that you've been on which may give me inspiration! Has there been any special touches that made you smile? Anything that really didn't go down well?
I really want my friend to enjoy every second of her Henny, think this is stressing me out more than the actual wedding is! lol

i had a great hen weekend
started with bit of a pamper by going to seaweed baths, then headed to the hotel to get ready and my sister secretly organised a cocktail making session (which was really good crack for everyone) and then we went for dinner and my sis managed to get us into the vip lounge of a night club where we boogied the rest of the night away.
to be honest i think anything will work out well as long as the hen is surrounded by friends and you all have a good laugh!
even a old fashioned pj party with tackie movies etc would be fun if the hen hasn't seen everyone invited in a while!
your imagination is the limit

Hen do last month was Ladies day at the races - great fun but no good for Oct/Nov!
Next hen do is in October, tho - a night out at the Medieval Banquet near Tower Hill in London.
There's probably something similar nationwide.
Hen do after that is my own and I'm hoping to book with Theatre Workout - we'll learn the 'Bend and Snap' routine, then go and see the pros do it properly in Legally Blonde!Gaffa tape is like the Force; It has a Dark side, a Light sideand it holds the universe together0 -

I've been on two hen nights in my life. One was pottery painting followed by garden games and a BBQ. The other was foundry gay pride and a night out in Manchester gay village (joint hen for a lesbian wedding) then the ladies had separate nights out in local towns.
I have enjoyed all of them as a hen and I know the brides have enjoyed them despite them being so different- they just suited the characters down to the ground.0 -
Thanks for all the ideas guys. I think I may have FINALLY found something (price and location dependant, no exact details for either on the website I found it on lol) that might suit everybody!
What do you think about a Mini Highland Games day? Website advertises it as a half or full day of:
Can be half or full day including:
Seven traditional highland events.
Professional and fully qualified staff, all resplendent in highland dress.
Team score packs.
Prize-giving ceremony.
Insurance.
The events are listed as:
Tossing the Caber
Hurling the Wellies
The Farmer's Dash
The Haggis Malt Challenge
Weight O'er Bar
Tossing the Hammer
Tug o' War
Would that be something people on here would enjoy? Personally I think it would be quite good fun, a wee bit of competition and something different for the girls coming up from Oxford!! lol But does it appeal to anyone else? Or do you think it's not a very 'henny' thing to do?.•

I've been to 3 hen dos including my own.
1st was my sisters - shes like the finer things in life, so we went to the Hilton for cocktails, which was very nice, if a bit £££. But I added personal touches like making a quiz about her & her hub, having prizes / goody bags, and doing a "This is your Life" presentation.
2nd was a friend. We did a pic nic in the day, and everyone was asked to make / bring on savoury & one sweet dish. Then in the evening we went to a cabaret night.
3rd was mine. The girls took me zorbing in the day which was amazing (I think they got a groupon deal) then we did happy hour at one of my favourite cocktail bars, then went for dim sum (toptable deal) and then went to my favourite club night.0 -
I had two hen do's which sounds greedy I know
Hen Do 1 = V festival - not everyone could afford to go to this and frankly wasnt everyones cup of tea but, I had always wanted to go to a festival but with two kids and bills etc could never really justify the exspence.
Hen do 2 = meal out in local town with friends plastic tiaras and ridiculous games of dare ensued and insured that everyone got the chance to come along and make me look like a prat.....0 -
Rainbowdrops - one of the things that's worrying me is that I'll pick something too expensive! Do you think anyone was put off going to your sisters for that reason?
I've been keeping an eye out on Groupon, Itison & Living Social for deals lol.•
