At Christmas i bought my son a laptop from Currys. This would'nt turn on so we took it back for a replacement. The second one turned on but the speakers did'nt work so we took it back again. The third one worked for a few months until the graphics card started playing up,screws fell out, things inside rattled and whenever you lifted the lid, what seemed to be static filled the screen. It was picked up by their Knowhow delivery driver to be taken off for repair. we finally got it back after about 5 weeks. For 3 weeks it was ok then my son went away for 2 weeks. When he returned, he turned on his laptop and NOTHING.
I would be very grateful if someone could give me any help as to where i stand with a situation like this

Worth calling up or taking into store to ask. It might not be refunded, but they may either be able to fix it there and then, or get it back to the repair centre (who are much quicker than 5 weeks now)Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

In my opinion, after so many repairs and replacements you should be given a refund. But this is Currys we are talking about here. You could formally reject the goods and take them to the small claims court if they refuse to offer a refund. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0

On what grounds would they have to reject the goods after this long?0 -

I would assume that after so many repairs and replacement I assume they would be able to reject the goods. If this had been the first repair after ten months, it would be difficult to argue, but as the goods are not fit for purpose, or of merchantable quality, they should be able to rescind. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0
