SE K800i, new SE software and the white screen of death...

I downloaded the latest SE software at the weekend, planning on sync my phone and outlook calendar.......

Got the phone and laptop connected, sync failed, the phone flashed a white screen and I've not been able to turn it on since. I purchased it on line through mobileshop.com and haven't so far been able to get hold of anyone in their CS 'chatroom'. 3 have tested the battery and found nothing wrong. All they could suggest was return it to SE, the Phone Doctor on my local market suggested CPW repair centre........

Any ideas? Anyone?

Thanks

use the cable that came with the phone and upgrade the firmware on the handset, by using SEUS
just follow the instructions in seus

If you have any problems ask drahcir or james-73 for advice or go to Esato and ask for help there as the are v. good with SE phones

as gaming_guy says try update first, if no good then you will need a service center to do a reflash
s/e site should give you your nearest service center

Thanks folks - did as you suggested and get the following message:

    Java.Lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException

Does this mean anything to anyone?

CPW have taken it in to see what they can do under warranty (even though they didn't sell it to me in the first place - nice one CPW) - if they can fix it they will, if not they will send it back to SE.......

  • Try taking the memory card out if you have one fitted. My brother had the same with his phone, took the memory card out and it was OK.
