Parking Charge Notice - Retail Park

I've received a parking charge notice in the post from a private car parking management company.
The maximum period of stay was 2 hours which, I admit, I didn't notice. My car was there for about 7 hours.
What should I do? Should I pay the fine?
Thanks

It's not a fine and you've posted this 3 times in error! Never mind...the answer to your query is...
Ignore the whole thing.
YES!!! IGNORE!!!
Did you not read the sticky threads, watch the Watchdog video etc when you first searched for info? See top of forum, stickies by Crabman:

These are not even real parking 'tickets' or 'fines' so please stop calling them that! See my signature for Martin Lewis' summary of this con.
Read up about it and as an MSEer please stop getting so bothered by a scam similar to phishing emails.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I presume this is free parking for users of the facilities of the retail park.
Whilst you do not have to pay the charge, it seems unlikely that whoever was driving the car was genuinely using the retail park for seven hours.
If that is the case then the driver is clearly abusing the free parking provision. They would be well advised not to do so again as it is this
kind of abuse that led to the formation of the Private Parking Industry in the first place.
This type of "abuse" (if it was such) is also used by the PPC brigade when lobbying parliament for extra legislation to support their scam.
Also persistent abuse could lead to the vehicle being banned permanently by way of an injunction, such an injunction could allow the landowner to have the vehicle removed by the Police.
In short ignore the PPC but don't make a habit of this.0 -

All very true, and I do sometimes overstay a bit if shopping - but seven hours is taking the mickey - and in fact it's commuter-parking like that which encourages retailers to get PPCs in!
But as we said, it's still a scam to issue fake parking tickets so just ignore them and the debt collector scary letters that will follow. Read those stickies, mapleleaf1010.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
