Hi,
1st post here so hope I don't get anything wrong
I bought a comedy night for 2 from WHSmith (£34) to take the Mrs away.
We went to Putney comedy tree (excellent venue!) where entry was £10 (or £15 with food)
We were only allowed the £10 tickets, totalling £20 which meant the extra £14 (48%) I paid for the voucher went to the voucher suppliers (WHSmith and Activity superstore)
Both companies have said they can't give me any sort of refund for the extra and i am left feelign well and truly ripped off.
Anyone had similar experience?
is there anything I can do?
I know its not a huge amount of money but I just hate getting ripped off!!

I too feel very ripped off. We have recently had afternoon tea at Bodelwyddan Castle, through Marks and Spencer, where Activity Superstore sells, (and Next Argos WH Smith, Boots, Debenhams.)
The voucher, a gift, had cost £29, Warner hotels are marketing the tea at £14.95.
It is promoted as decadent, fantastic setting, indulgent. M&S voucher states 'live the dream'.
We had a very second rate tea in a dingy bar with two groups of elderly people doing Christmas crafts and playing cards. Very noisy and unpleasant. The staff clearly knew it wasn't up to scratch.
I'm sad that well meaning, loving relatives will give these vouchers this Christmas and have no idea of the quality offered or the value. I'm sure some venues do the job well but it's a big risk.
By the way, no response from M&S customer service.
Be warned they're now selling champagne teas £49.0 -
Hi
Just found this thread, new to this so bear with me!
I am writing to warn anyone thinking of buying one of these vouchers as a present--- DO NOT BUY. Give the money instead! They use a huge mark up for packaging customer service etc what customer service? We booked directly. So we received a unique stay gift pack worth £109. We searched all locations thinking we will choose most expensive. Couldn't find one over £70. When booking we asked to take the remainder off another night! Apparently the voucher has no value just one night stay! So the room we booked costs on website £65. So in effect we've lost £44! I dare not tell our parents that there hard earnt cash was wasted!
Book direct if you want to gift someone.
Really disappointing and will be informing the b&b it reflects badly
on them too.0
