VW Polo vs. Vauxhall Corsa
Hi,
I'm now torn between a VW Polo Match and a Vauxhall Corsa SXi. Both are very much the same price, but the Corsa seems to depreciate much quicker. I've heard that VW reliability is not as good as before, and that Vauxhall is known to be quite unreliable. But Vauxhall comes with the 100k warranty, so I'm not sure if that'll have me protected. If I am to keep this car for about 5 years, which one should I go for? I'll only be doing about 6-7k a year.
Thanks!

i suspect they meant 6 or 7K....0 -
Have you driven either of them?Went shoplifting at the Disneystore today.
Got a huge Buzz out of it.0 -
Yes, I've driven both of them. I like the Polo more, but Vauxhall's 100k warranty looks attractive. Is it dependable though?0

I cant remember exactly but I think you have to have Vauxhall check it once a year to keep the warranty, personally I'd take the Polo everytime, depreciation on the Corsa will be a killer and if its the 1.2 its underpowered.Have you thought about the Korean offerings?Went shoplifting at the Disneystore today.

I have a VW Polo, I have had a lot of problems with it but call me mad - I would definately get one again.....heres why:
*when I have had said problems everyone has been amazed as they havent seen such problems before and they know a lot about cars and VW's and always say 'but they are so reliable' (this came from a variety of mechanics - all my Dad's mates so not trying to rip me off, a recovery driver (who obviously picks up lots of cars - but not normalle VW's!) and a VW specialist who is independant)
*It feels solid as a rock on the motorway - I have had other cars that feel so flimsy, I feel like I am in a tank in the VW - in a good way! I drive predominantly motorway so need something good in that sense.
So I have had problems, but they have all been 'unique' and I do think essentially the make is good but it is the luck of the draw to some extent, I think VW have 'better bones' !0 -
Oh yes - forgot to say, their value holds amazingly well! unlike other cars that just seem to nose dive.0

Mike Rutherford in the Telegraph rates as best in class (the Polo).
Take a look at the Panda will save you a load up front and holds it's value very well
