Motorolla Atrix opinions?

I've been researching and comparing a lot of touch-screen smartphones the last few days and I've narrowed my choices down to the Motorolla Atrix. Before I go ahead does anyone else have one of these phones and what experiences or opinions to they have of it versus the HTC equivalent or others.

Also the Atrix seems to come with Android 2.2 (Froyo), is it possible to upgrade this to 2.3 (Gingerbread) or is the phone going to be limited to running its current software version?

If you google the phone name you will find some technical reviews that will give you a good idea of the phones capabilities. I have an android set and the most common problem is battery life, though I get around it with a charger at work as well as home. In practical terms there is not a lot of difference between 2.2 and 2.3 since you can get free apps in Android Market to upgrade your phone anyway. If you buy the phone with a contract be aware that by the end of a 24 month contract the phone will be very dated at the end of it, new improved sets are coming out at a phenomenal pace now, so perhaps no point in getting a premium set now but that is your choice as a customer
