Getting an Iphone 4 on o2

Hi there I was wondering if anyone could help me, by letting me know if I have a chance of managing to get an Iphone4 on o2 without paying a sum upfront.

My bargaining position is that I have been a PAYG customer with them on the same number for 10 years, topping up between £15 and £30 a month. Ive also been a home broadband customer for over 3 years.

I have looked at their existing deals for the iphone and the £37 p/m contract would be sufficient for my use but it includes a £140 upfront fee for the phone which I cannot justify.

Does anyone think I have a leg to stand on? Or should I cut my losses and change network, as there are better deals on other networks but I ideally would like to stay with o2.

    24x£37, no upfront sum

AFIK, O2 don't bargain unless you are a very big spender.

As a side note, IMHO a person that cannot afford £140 upfront cannot afford 24x£37 either.
  • Thanks mate, wfor cannot afford read can't justify a £140 spend
  • Go for a cheaper phone, plenty of choice.
  • Without passing judgment on whether you can afford to pay the monthly line rental or not - Vodafone have the iPhone 4 16GB for £31 per month with no upfront cost. Mobiles .co.uk have this deal.

I would say that the iPhone on Vodafone outperforms other networks and there are a number of videos of YouTube which support my claim.

I, like you, cannot justify paying £140 for the handset upfront. When I got my iPhone 4 contract in December I had to pay £29 for the handset, however, I am paying £50 per month which I plan to reduce significantly!!

If you are set on buying an iPhone then don't consider anything else as all you will do is wish you had bought an iPhone. If you shop around you will find a decent iPhone deal, however, I think you will find it hard to beat the Vodafone one.

    Cheers
