hey ladies
I'm new to the forum & i'm due to get marred on 5th May 2013.
Been to my first wedding fayre today but there was so much to take in I dont even know where to start.
Our venue & catering is taken care of but I am hoping to do eveything else for under 2.5k.
I was just wondering how you ladies manage to organise everything to make sure you dont go over buget etc.
any help would be much appreciated thanks.

Welcome to the forum
First of all you need to do a list of all the things that are essential for a wedding, like the cake, car, church etc....after when you have done that you need to go through the list one by one and give a estimate price for each thing...then start searching for the best possible price on each item. Things like your dress, you can always buy off Ebay or in the sale when on in Bridal shops. All you have to do is to have will power and you will get there.
Me and my O/H started off with a 2.5k budget, but it has now gone up to a totalling price of 4k! It can not be helped on some things, but try your hardest. The reason why we had spent a extra 1.5k is because our parents helped us out to have them extra luxuries.
Good Luck

Welcome!
firstly i would do the list of everything you are going to want (on a spreadsheet is usually easiest) there are some good ones if you google it and the make a budget and stick to it and as everyone says research research research
i take 1 thing on the list per week (this week was a cake knife) and just search until you find what you want for the price you want
also try and have the wedding money in a seperate account and then buy things as you go so you can see the money going but also so you dont get overwhelmed spending it all at once
remember to wander in whenever you want some help or a rant - the bridezilla thread is one of my faves! o and i also love shopping for other people on the find my ........ thread and everyone is always lovely and helpful
last little hint dont be scared by those who are MEGA organised (you know who you are!!!!!!) and go at a pace that suits yuo and the OH
and enjoy xxxxxxxxThe only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 50 -
welcome! I'm also getting married in May 13. I also think it's a good idea to have a think about the kind of wedding you (and your OH lol) want. Wedding fayres can be a bit overwhelming and remember that they are bound to recommend that you should have every added extra imaginable! At least on this forum there's a variety of opinions about these things, but generally the feeling is - don't feel you have to do something/have something because 'it's the done thing'!0
