    Congratulations and yes research and more research,ebay has been my best friend since we booked the wedding,ive got my blank invites,envelopes,blamk RSVP's,envelopes,scatter crystals,sweet bags,organza bags,wishing well,underskirt,shoes,cufflinks,tie pins plus more from there.works out much cheaper than shops and u can grab some real bargains on there.got my dress in a sample sale,mum got my veil and paying for ehr friend to do alterations,mum and dad buying cake aswell.we have a budget of £3500

    Congratulations and welcome to the madhouse !!
    There's brides on this forum who've done their whole weddings for around that £25000 mark, and that included the venue and food, so if you're taking those out already and looking to do the rest for under that you'll be fine.
    Don't be talked into buying things just because you think you have to. I commented only recently that I've managed to get my wedding organised without a chair cover in sight! What some people consider essential others might happily do without (family springs to mind from a lot of stories on here :rotfl:) Our budget has gone up as we changed certain plans (like extending what we had at the venue for one) but the things we have got have been reasonable if not total mega bargains.
    You'll get loads of hints and tips on here...have fun :)
