Changing name after divorce - Tips?

I know everybody is going on about not paying for a deed poll - but this does have the advantage that you can order several certified copies of it. I changed my name by deed poll when adding my maiden name to my first names when I got married, and taking my husband's surname.
I didn't have to go through the endless horrors of sending off my marriage certificate to one organisation at a time, preying it wouldn't get lost in the post. Judging by the number of staple holes my copies of my deed polls have, a marriage certificate/decree absolute/other important document could end up looking like a tea bag! All the time the copy deed polls have been going through the post, my very important marriage certificate is safely tucked away with us.
I didn't realise this would be a side benefit of the deed poll, but the peace of mind of not parting with the orginal deed poll and marriage certificate outweigh paying a few quid for the deed poll.Make £2025 in 2025

The point being made is if you are reverting to your maiden name you dont need to change by deedpoll... it is not necessary therefore you shouldnt be paying anybody.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Slinky, I would agree but cant you just order copies of your marriage certificate instead of getting copies of a deedpoll? I did get married abroad and can order as many as I like, so I guess I just assumed you could do the same in the UK?
Im getting 4 copies of my marriage certificate - to prevent it getting lost in post, and so like you said you dont have to send to one organisation at a time.0
