Tesco H&B vouchers

  • With a migraine and little time off I truddled to Tescos with Mum who insisted that today was the day she had to buy her turkey ??? !

    Anyway, sorted my shopping into 2 lots - unfortunately SA was abit enthuastic and some of my vouchers just beeped even though I had made the require spends arghhhh. These included the £5 toiletry voucher, a £5 clothing voucher gold and a blue £4 kids clothing voucher, a £2.50 voucher, several 50 pointers and a £1 voucher.

    Unfortunately, there was a jobsworth on CS who loudly stated "my dear do you think that Tescos would allow a £5 voucher to work on £20 worth of bogofs" and insisted that to use the voucher I would have to spend £40 on bogofs making the balance £20 before the £5 would work" So that voucher was handed back. My receipts were then checked for kids clothing - I had hit the required spends but she insisted a hat and glove set for kids was not kids clothing ! so a £4 voucher was accepted but not a £5 one. Next the toiletry points - another lecture about how tescos do not hand out points for the love of it .................. so had just 100 points added. Then she moaned about a £1 and £2.50 voucher.

    Anyway, upshot was my totals came to £187 minus toiletry deals, and clothing deals - I paid £52 and was then reimbursed £7.50 cash so total was only £44.50 and I gained around 1,300 points (used point vouchers for books and clothing too).

    So £46 back at MFI so I am up on my shopping ..........

    Carmina Piranha included in the above totals was 2 lovely cashmere jumpers, one green and one red for mum and sis for Christmas. Only one more to purchase and I will have achieved my Challenge Welshy target

    Finally, the moral of my story I should never go shopping to buy a Turkey on a Thursday with a migraine !!! and should stick to weekends.

    Welshy x

  • yes, as i trundled to the checkout i thought i'm such a muppet, none of the full time tesco staff will let me use all these vouchers! but as luck would have it there was a friendly young lad who scanned everything willingly :D

    is anyone desperate enough for H+B vouchers that they don't mind the 50 point coupons being missing? my sister gave me a stack of her leftovers today but half of the £1 ones and all of the points ones have been used by her. just thought i would mention it as somebody might think it's worth sending an SAE for.

    today i tried my £5 off a £20 spend on toiletries ,when I got to the till the A s said I hadn't bought enough for it to come off ,she only took the £2.50 one .
    I bought the following
    deoderantx 2 £1.99 = £3.98
    facial scrub x2 =£7.96
    conditioner=£1.65
    lypsyl=£1.94
    another conditioner=£1.65
    shampoo=£1.65
    timotei=£1.65
    my total spend was £20.48p
    Do you think the lypsalve is not classed as toiletries ?Is it a beauty product ?
    It was in the aisle with the toiletries .should I go to the customer desk and see if they will refund the fiver ?

    I bought £24 worth of stuff today (before BOGOF) but the till would only accept 3 £1 vouchers and 3 50 points vouchers.

    SA couldn't do anything to help, and of course I wasn't going to ask at CS!!

    I did go to CS though for something else (ALL reduced groceries were scanning at full price!!) so mentioned that the £2.50 voucher and a 50 point voucher hadn't worked. So she did those for me. Better than nothing, I suppose.

    I did buy some condoms on BOGOF - they were £14 of the total. Could it have been that they didn't count towards toiletries?
  • I have bought the Durex play and that is included under healthcare so used the £1.00 off a £4 spend. I am sure that condoms is included under healthcare too which is why it didn't work.

    I forgot to mention earlier that the Aquafresh toothbrushes priced £2.48 on bogof are also on a try me free offer - some had stickers on - so you can send off and be reimbursed the £2.48 too.

  • I did a Welshy tonight. Three Magnolia gift sets, 2 Dove shampoos, 2 Dove conditioners: £22.72 before discounts. £1.72 for BOGOF on the Dove, then I used £5 Sun voucher, 2 x £2.50 coupons, 5 x £1 coupons, and 7 x 50 point coupons. By my reckoning I paid £6 and got back £14 worth of Clubcard deals.:T
    Thank you Welshy for your tuition. :beer:

    Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in. :D

    Grrrr.

    Sent hubby off to Tesco last night with a detailed explanation of what to do.

    He came back with the goods. Great. Managed to getrid of the 2 x £2.50 and 5 x £1 vouchers. I'd also given him my last 8 50 point vouchers.

    Looked at the receipt. SA had taken all of them, and according to hubby had scanned all. BUT, only one was on the receipt.

    How annoying is that??!!:mad:
